I have been an activist in the area for a number of years and in my area we have about 6 different groups that all have a similar remit. Surely by having Community Councils will limit the amount duplication of work by local people who are give up alot of their spare time. As Community Councillors are elected by local people this will make them more accountable which, currently some of the groups ar enot accountable to anyone. Community Councils will also be a strategic group therfore this will result in better communication between the Community and the Council and Council officials.
