Well Friends and readers, your newly elected Labour-oops sorry community councils will if they have not already met, be meeting shortly. This will be an opportunity for those with an independent mind to have their say. It may well be that they are swamped by the labour toadies, who will try and put a brave front on view as the party machine goes into freefall.

PiltonSucks.com is a little wary of these councils but like everybody else we have no choice in the matter - so much for democracy. But we will put a brave face on it and trust that they do not decend into a farce with people becoming fed up, if they become what we suspect which is another talking shop with the labour toadies running the show. 

We have seen the make up of the councils and there are some good people on them, who will not be bullied by the clingons of the labour party.

Well lets hope they suceed and make a real difference to a community which has ground to a halt in terms of regeneration.

 

Readers and Friends. Your friend and mine Derek ‘dodgy’ Suttie - thats based at the Prentice Centre, is trying to gag staff by getting the union to forbid staff from using work computers so by in his tiny imagination, protect His drinking buddy Mike Rosendale.

Fortunately the union told him were to get off. His belief in his own self-importance was certainly not justified. Community Education is like social work, rotten to the core and full of spineless gutless wonders. Suttie is just another one ass-licking, crawling, small individuals, unfortunately we have to bear him in this community.

The dodgy Suttie should look at his own track record, particularly when he was the worker at Royston Wardieburn Community Centre. When he did put in an appearance, which was not to often, you would know he was coming because the smell of alcohol arrived first. This habit was covered up, but like any other council employee who is a crawler or a bully they are looked upon with favour. Just ask the Muirhouse bully, that sleazy character is still practicing his trade, and why, simple really, his wee legs can just be spotted coming out of the backsides of his management friends.

So it seems, if like Mr. ‘dodgy’ Suttie and the Muirhouse bully, you creep, crawl, lie, and cheat then the council is your oyster. Are these the kind of brain dead morons you want employed by the council on your behalf? We think not!

Next time you pass Mr. ‘dodgy’ Suttie in the street or more likely, catch him in a bar, ask him how he can justify trying to gag staff just to protect another crook from being found out.

Friends and Readers.We have all read in the press or seen on our televisions reports of institutionalised racism within public bodies, and the constant denials of the various spokes persons who come forward.

We now know that institutionalised bullying is alive and well and thriving in the Social Work Department.We have highlighted the case of the Muirhouse bully and the blatent cover up going on there, that stretches right up the food chain, we have also highlighted the fact that the local elected members , Fitkpatrick, Hinds, and Maginnis have at this present time said nothing on the subject, and by doing this encourage the bullying to continue.

Our source in the Muirhouse Social Work centre told us on Monday 20-3-06 in a lenghty telephone conversation that the full extent of the bullying had still to come out, and that one of the MUIRHOUSE TWO had been subjected to what she called bullying of a violent nature, we asked her tell us exactly what she meant. She went on to tell us that the bullying she had witnessed had become so bad and intense that it was violent in its delivery.

We were also told and this is new information that the Muirhouse bully was assisted by his deputy in the destruction of this individual, our source told us that on a regular basis, almost daily the Muirhouse bully and his sidekick (we have his name) would go out of their way to bully and humiliate their victim and they did not care who knew it such was their arrogance. Our source also told us that she often discussed it with her colleagues, and felt something had to be done to protect this member of staff.

She said “We all knew what was going on the two of them just constantly picked on him and it was an unhappy place to work.” She went on “I discussed it with colleagues at West Pilton Gardens Social Work Centre but some of them already knew and were aware of the growing problem.”

PiltonSucks.com are not suprised that the bullying was known about else where and are indeed not suprised that nothing was done to help this individual who was under a continual barrage of abuse from not one but two spiteful individuals. We are also not suprised to learn that the bully’s assistant has been given another post of a similar nature in Midlothian.  We hope they know what a small minded individual they are getting, and if they want to contact us we will happily furnish them with what we know and can prove.

So now we know bullying carries rewards you might even be promoted, thought more of, be popular amongst your fellow bullies,but wait on this is far from over, we at Pilton Sucks.com will contact individualy the three local councillors concerned Fitzpatrick, Hinds, and Maginnis to inform them of what we know, and will await with interest their views.

But we at PiltonSucks.com will not be bullied by small minded characters such as they have at Muirhouse Social Work Centre, we want these individuals stopped and punished for their vile actions against another human being and we do not forget there is another victim in this travesty.

But we are all victims if we sit back and do nothing, for if nothing is done then bullies will carry on backed by their spineless managers, too gutless to do anything about it.  The community of Greater Pilton were these two gutless wonders practice their trade do not want bullies in their area   We have enough social problems without two outsiders coming in to throw their weight around because they do not have the level of intelligence to know any better.

These are sad individuals who have to bully to show how much authority they have got, in reality they have none and even less respect. So as they go about their daily business just remember your colleagues know what you are, they might not say it but they know, and they know who the MUIRHOUSE TWO are, and we will continue to pursue bullies in our community

If the Social Work Department continues to be silent on this matter and have a do nothing policy, PiltonSucks.com will force the issue.  We want the Muirhouse bully and his so-called assistant punished for there sins against a fellow member of staff in fact both members of staff who they have injured - who knows there might be more-there probably is.

We will continue to hound the Muirhouse Bully- we wonder how he likes it- we have a moral duty to make public, what they would hide from you and tell you does not exist. But all who have experienced it and all who have witnessed it, know bullying is alive and kicking and built with the bricks.

Friends and readers. Come March 26th smoking in public places will be banned. We at PiltonSucks.com welcome this and would encourage all smokers to try and give up the dreaded weed.

The health of the nation is important as without your health it is very difficult to achieve anything. We realise that smoking is very addictive and is extremly hard for some people to pack it in. By banning smoking in public places this may be the incentive that you need to stop.

On the other hand we are in danger if we are not careful of being told how to live our lives and along with the fact that the government rakes in a huge amount of tax from the sale of tobbaco there is a feeling of hypocracy involved. Given that the policy has the desired effect and cuts down on smoke related illnesses where does the lost revenue come from.

Here is a thought.If smokers take the plunge and ultimatly give up and therefore possibly live longer, who pays for their pensions when they reach retirement age.  So why does the government not ban the sale of alcohol and help to put a stop to alcohol related deaths and the social problems that over indulgance brings with it. Why not ban gambling and save punters from them selves or are these social activities regarded as harmless vices.

Alcohol and gambling destroys families leaving a trail of destruction in its path but nothing is done to prevent this. Quite the opposite our noble councillor and foreign holiday queen Elizabeth Maginnis supports the idea in fact is a leading advocate of bringing a cassino down to the waterfront, strange is it not. Never mind do not worry both gambling and drinking will not be banned and nor it should be.

All we are saying is were does government control of our lives stop, George Orwell described a vision of control in his novel 1984. We are fast reaching that point were our noble rulers decided everything that is both bad and good for us. all we have the pleasure of is paying for it one way or another.

Two things in life are certain death and taxes thank god the third thing is not certain-continued mis-rule from the peoples party.

As you read through your monthly copy of the North Edinburgh News, pause for a moment and reflect on why there is not more investigative journalism, indeed why is there not even the smallest in depth question asked. Could it be friends and readers unlike our web site were you are free and encouraged to express your opinions, the NEN is frightened of what its political masters might say.

Should we ask David Pickering the resident journalist and ex Labour councillor and wannabee again (god forbid) about why he skims over the real issues with regularity and focuses on issues which may well have some immediate relevence, but misses out the long term problems that plague our community. Probably a waste of time as he is a dyed in the wool party hack who will not report on anything that would upset his political pals for fear that he might spoil his own electoral chances.

PiltonSucks.com urges people to write in and force the issues into the NEN it is after all your news sheet not the peoples partys propoganda sheet. We fully support a community news sheet but an open an honest one, not one to tell us that everything in the garden is rosey, when we already know that is not the case.

Friends and readers. We now pay 38% of our income in taxes of one form or another, this is as much as we paid in the dark days of the 70s.Of course the average working person as usual will be hardest hit, and with the pensions running into crisis may have to work on past the current retiral age to give themselves a decent pension.

Now we also see the people’s party caught up in sleaze, selling peerages for cash and denying they knew anything about it,if you believe that you will believe anything.  Patronage is nothing new but we were promised a new start under Labour, but of course that has not happened, and sleaze has returned with a vengence.  So what do the ordinary party members think or are they relevent now, as it would seem that rich unelected donars can demand a covert seat in government.

Tony Blair’s final days in power is now tainted as was John Major’s final days this lead to the tories being destroyed at the polls, will the same thing happen to labour. We do not have to look to national government to find sleaze, for instance former labour group leader Keith Geddes received a consultancy contract from his cronies worth £90,000 pounds Trevor Davies private business dealings are worth closer scrutiny, John Mulvey another former group leader was given a contract to look at poverty, Elizabeth Maginnis and her close ties with the Waterfront’s chief executive.

It seems two fingers are been shown to the voters as our rulers weave their tangled web, of course panic may well be setting in as the voting system changes for the next council elections and feathering the nest is the order of the day.  These so called councillors have been hiding under the labour flag using their positions to enhance their earnings and social standing, they are worse than the tories, because you expect it from them, but from the peoples party you expect better.

But many of them will try to cling on to power promising better days and more of them, but if the electorate has any sense, they will toss them out of office and return their own candidates so at least they will have an opportunity to get accountability and straight answers.

Greater Pilton has such an opportunity, we at PiltonSucks.com hope you take it and return your own candidates emptying the old guard who have for so long taken it for granted  that the punters will vote for them because they always have.  But times change and new people emerge. As you would expect PiltonSucks.com follows local issues closely and have in the past been to a number of public meetings and listened to the concerns on the various issues discussed.

We have spoken to local people who have become increasingly sceptical and angered about what is going on and we have heard a couple of names put forward as contenders in the coming local elections. As we travel round the area One person in particular has been mentioned freqently, we would not wish to put undue pressure on him by asking if he would be prepared to stand or even name him on this site, but he is well respected in the community and we have spoken to him over the phone, in fact as recently as Thursday 16-3-06 and asked him if he would be interested in standing if he felt the community would support him. His reply which he said we could publish was to say that at the present time he had no plans to stand and was quite happy to be a community activist,although at times he felt some issues could be dealt with a more delicatly.

He also mentioned that he has been reading our site and expressed concern about our anti bullying campaign and in particular the case of the MUIRHOUSE TWO which he felt was if our facts were correct-and they are- should be dealt with at a local level with local elected members taking a bigger interest.

So Friends and readers you can see although we are surrounded by tax and sleaze there is still a window of hope there are people prepared to come forward and be counted despite the possibilty of being excluded, communitys are not without people who do think that it may be time to change both direction and priorities. These people who ever they are should not be ridiculed and rubbished and dismissed as trouble makers, remember your history if it were not for people fighting the status quo were would we be now, still serfs tugging our fore lock to some pompus stuck up twit, come to think of it history has a habit of repeating itself if it is not nipped in the bud. 

Friends and readers. As you know Pilton Sucks.com is currently running an anti workplace bullying campaign, something our local council should be doing but are not,not yet anyway. So until our city fathers find the courage to tackle this growing problem we will, in our own small way bring it to the citys attention.

There is a real problem city wide with workplace bullying, it may be you are being bullied but do not know it, this will be be because in the main like our own muirhouse bully they have the support of their direct line manager and above, and this paints the picture of business as usual and ignore anything else that remotely resembles rocking the status quo.

Now of course the problem is more complicated than that as it brings in intimidation and harrassment all of which is designed to scare the employee into doing nothing and if the case of the MUIRHOUSE TWO is anything to go by then it is no suprise that staff are scared to come forward. But we say do not be scared write to us at Pilton Sucks .com and we will take up your case, up to now a number of council staff have contacted us to tell us of mistreatment in the workplace, social workers from Muirhouse and surrounding area have told us of the mistreatment of staff, in particular in relation to the MUIRHOUSE TWO, they were sickened at what happened to them and told us they woud come forward if they could be sure of no repercusions.

Such is the climate of fear that exists such statements have to be made and reasurences sought. Pilton sucks.com has been informed by a source in muirhouse social work department who asked us to with hold their name, that any talk of the MUIRHOUSE TWO is discouraged and it is almost as if they never existed, but they do exist and continue to be a thorn in the Social Work Deparments side, only because they seemingly refuse to do anything about the muirhouse bully, this of course will encourage him to carry on with this vile practice, and try and transfer his methods elsewhere as our friends at captains road social work centre know only to well.

Do not think it will stop there, unless a stop is put to him he will be relentless in his pursuit of his methods to the detriment of the service and the moral of the staff. Pilton Sucks.com advise all concerned to watch out for his creeping virus and to object to anything he trys to feed through the system. As a serial bully and by a lack of being brought to account for his behaviour,this in his limited understanding gives him a licence to expand his remit, and influence other CSOs[community service officers] to behave like him.We would not hesitate to guess if this happens and we have evidence it has begun, that other members of staff will line up behind the MUIRHOUSE TWO and start to take action through the union. We would support this absolutely, and then we might see the Social Work Department take some overdue action.

As you go about your daily duties you have a right to be protected particularly if you are a lone worker, this bullying mentality flies in the face of basic human rights and dignity, it has to be stopped,he has to be stopped the MUIRHOUSE TWO are trying to do just that but are facing man made hurdles, it may take more people to join the fight, for it is a fight that effects everyone, no one is safe. So if in the days and weeks to come you come under threat fight back seek immediate advice,by doing this you will be doing the service a favour, do what the MUIRHOUSE TWO did stand up and be counted, if you do not you may well regret it. 

Friends and readers. On Friday 17-03-06 there is to be a grand getogether of the great and the good to discuss how best to move forward with what has been dubbed the Forth Rivera. However it is by invitation only so the plebs will not be able to be there.

What is noticeable is the absense of community activists who might say something different than the party line. We question whether all the Pilton Partnerships reps have been invited and how much notice they received. This is really a back slapping exercise designed to allow the great and the good to hear the sound of their own voices.

What is needed at this private party is a voice that will be independent and tell it how it is, how the existing community is being excluded how no local labour charter is in place, where is the affordable homes, what kind of access will the existing community get.

PiltonSucks.com is saddened because this will be another wasted opportunity to get some real information into what is going on. We are also saddened but not supprised to learn that one of the leading activists one with an independant mind and voice a rep on the partnership board has not been invited and we understand was only given a couple of days notice. This of course smells but is typical of a closed mind mentality.

When we asked Mr. Marinello for a comment he declined and told us he was unable to make the meeting, we asked how many of the other reps were invited he did not know that either.

 PiltonSucks.com is in nobodys pocket and is concerned that any activist never mind an experienced one is not offered an invite to an event of such importance. Are we just to be fed the same old rubbish as we are used to, it looks like it, once again exclusion is the name of the game, inclusion for some as long as they tow the line.

What has become of those who can be bought with a sandwich and a glass of cheap wine, this is about the future and how it will be shaped  If activists who have an opinion of their own are not invited because the local rulers decide it would not be in the intersts of the majority, the majority we might say that was put together by those with a self interest to protect.

So although we could not get a comment from one leading activist his silence speaks volumes and tells us that as usual if your face does not fit then you do not get to go to the ball. Well to hell with it for without independant minded people we are all just nodding dogs in the back of the car.

Friends and readers our true and honest councillor William Fitzpatrick has claimed over £500 pounds in taxi expences, well well well, we are sure he can justify this but we have to say why do you and your fellow aristocrats not use public transport after all you talk about it enough, but it seems it is not for you.

Well Billy, we suggest you walk after all it is good exercise and you might even lose some weight.  So the next time you are about to step into a taxi on the backs of the poor overcharged local tax payer, spare a thought for your health, and a thought for the punters you are supposed to represent, particularly the ones without jobs or the ones in poor housing both of which you have ample in your ward, and maybe just maybe your head will rule your wallet and you and your fellow local aristocrats will travel with the plebs and save the taxpayer a few quid. 

Friends and readers. Our campaign to rid the workplace of bullying goes on. Our source in the social work department tells us that many people are concerned that the muirhouse bully has not had to answer, as yet for his behaviour. It seems that the MUIRHOUSE TWO are openly being spoken of as being in the right and their support is growing.

Our source goes on to tell us that he knows of at least another three people who have been victims of the muirhouse bully and are willing to come forward if they can be given a guarantee that they will not be harrased or victimised, no such guarantee has been forth coming, and they will not come forward untill this happens. Our source passed the names to us and they confirmed that this was true.

So why the silence regarding the muirhouse bully, we already know the net is closing in and tightening soon there will be no place to run or hide except behind the coat tails of his managers who are to cowardly to do anything about it. We have a duty to expose these people who are frightened of the day they have never seen and seemingly believe they are invunerable. NOT TRUE.It may take time but the truth will come out no matter how you try to hide it, other members of staff will not put up with it for ever.

So as we speak the muirhouse bully and bullys everywhere we will expose you,  we  will be relentless in our pursuit of justice in the first instance for the MUIRHOUSE TWO and secondly every where a bully practices his trade. WE ARE WATCHING.
