Friends and readers. The election of community councils in North Edinburgh should herald a new dawn in community politics and greater democracy.

No such luck. As we reported a while back they are just an extension of the local Labour party, and no wonder as the local membership is at record lows. So what do our noble councillors do, jam them full of wannabees patronise them full their heads full of nonsence, and control their own neck of the woods with no questions asked.

We ask those people on the community councils who are independant of mind and they will be the minority, to speak up and not be afraid to anger our establishment councillors, we know you exist we even know your names, you are but a handful, you are out numbered, you might even become victims of side lining, although if our information is correct we doubt it.

Do not let our rulers kid you on and fill you full of bull, speak up and out we know you can, do not let this stage manged democracy fool you. All it is in reality is an attempt to control the community and get away with any kind of accountability.

We know that One community activist is so sick of what is going on he is seriously thinking of standing in 2007, we say good luck to him if he does, he will have our full support.

Friends and readers. A medical conference is taking place today 19-05-06 in England. The subject-WORKPLACE BULLYING. The medical profession is sitting up and taking notice that this dreadful sickness exists and is active in the workplace. Pilton Sucks.com has sent the findings of our research into workplace bullying to the B.M.A[British medical association] and what we believe to be,backed by medical opinion the ill health which can occur.

As you know we at Pilton Sucks. com are campaigning against workplace bullying, and are continuing our profile of bullys in our community.

As you are well aware we have highlighted the activities of the Muirhouse Social Work Centre bully and his mindless behaviour, we will continue to do so. As you also may be aware The City Of Edinburgh Council has a duty of care to its staff, by allowing this bully to go unpunished they are neglecting this duty and are in breach of their own guide lines.

We are as they must be well aware of this and should rectify this error of judgement with immediate effect. We have as a matter of course written to the court of justice in Strasbourg asking for clarification of the law regarding workplace bullying.

We as a so called civilised society must not tolerate workplace bullying, the treatment dished out by one human being to another, leaves all reasonable people gasping for breath, what makes it worse is that it seems to go unpunished, and if you have read our posts you will know that unless bullies are stopped, they will continue.

Do not forget bullies are cowards and will try to hide their behaviour from,in the first instance their superiors, and secondly will deny any wrong doing usually blaming the victim, that way they, like snakes in the grass wriggle out of it. Management historically are weak in this department prefering to side with the bully, as this is the easy option, the harder option and the more honest one is to fully investigate claims of workplace bullying, and put the wrong right.

Since we asked people to come forward and speak to us on what they have seen or experienced regarding workplace bullying, we have had quite a number of replys, telling us of people they know or their own experiences of workplace bullying. We spoke to our source at Shrubhill house[social work headquarters] and passed these replys to him, he was not supprised, at the number of alledged bullying incidents reported to have taken place. He is also aware of what happened to the victim of the Muirhouse bully, and quote- is pissed off at the lack of progress in nailing the bully.

We are not ,we have patience, we have time the bully has neither, we will wait for justice to be seen to be done, so must those who wish to come forward in defence of the victim,they will have their say-the guide lines say so dont they-. We had no faith in the system of justice in the first place, but that will not stop us trying to stop workplace bullying, bullying by cowards, who have no character, no self pride, only over inflated egos, which their tiny brain cannot deal with.

Last year, Councillor McGinnis and her Waterfront CEO Stephen Izatt hosted a very lavish and expensive St Andrews function for a few select friends. This was carried out at huge cost to the public purse. The event involved hosting a huge light show and display. However Instead of hiring the lights which were only required for the one evening, Councillor McGinnis and Waterfront CEO Stephen Izatt decided to purchase the lights brand new from a company called Black Light at huge cost. Their plan was to retain the lights and sell them privately at a later date.

However since they have come under scrutiny, Councillor McGinnis and Stephen Izatt have been unwilling to uplift the Lights which remain in storage at Black Light, incurring storage charges.

Thousands of pounds of public cash has been needlessly and wastefully and corruptly squandered.

Friends and readers. Our magnificent waterfront development continues at pace, and our community are none the wiser as to what is actually going on. No suprise there then. as the establishment councillor queen Elizabeth continues to keep information from getting out, we the poor punters of greater Pilton are left wondering what is happening.

The reality is simple information is power and the more they have the more power they have and of course the less information you have the less power you have to influence what is going on. So while this community remains in rags the new community will grow richer, with everything their little hearts desire.

They will be pandered to while we are walked all over and told to be happy about it. If ever there was a need for political change it is now. Ask your self honestly when was the last time the developers were brought to account by this community, yes thats right you cannot remember. When was the last time a Greater Pilton communtiy meeting was called to ask questions which we have a right to ask and have answers given, yes right again never.

And as long as we remain silent then a green light is given to run over us. So let us have a wake up call and demand to know what is going on. What is the big secret, what should we not know, or do our rulers think we are to stupid to understand what is going on. We are being side stepped and just like mushrooms we are being kept in the dark and fed poo.

So unless this community does for itself we will get nothing and told we are getting a good deal. Pilton sucks.com asks this simple question WHO DO YOU THINK IS BENIFITING FROM ALL THIS NEWNESS. answers on a postcard. 

Well friends and readers it seems the ruling party is in trouble. The English elections were a disaster for Labour, and they have nobody to blame but themselves. They are letting the Torries back in and god forbid these creatures get elected.

The Scottish Electorate will get the chance to have their say next year both at local and national level. So to business, we  have the dubious honour of having the ruling party running the show in this community and have been for some considerable time. We at Pilton sucks .com believe as many of the residents of this community, that it is time for a change.

The establisment councillors, of hinds, fitzpatrick and foreign holiday queen mcginnis have been with us for the best part of a generation, and there seems no sign of them standing aside to allow fresh thinking to have a shot. In fact they are to busy stabbing each other in the back over who will stand where to look after the punters they were elected to help. In queen Elizabeths case the only person she has really helped is herself.

So who should stand, well we have managed to speak to a couple of activists, who themselves were to put it mildly upset at the fixing of the community councils, in particular Royston/Wardieburn, where it was so blatently and badly staged managed, -remember our local bookie thought that as well- it was a joke.

One name came up a couple of times as a person who could take on the establishment party and win. When we tried to speak to him on this and other matters, he declined to comment, but when asked up front why he had not stood before, his answer was nobody had asked him, but he would not comment further on any other issues. Very admirable but we suggest a little stupid, since his loyalty will count for nothing as the establisment candidates will trample all over anybody who dares to get in their way.

But stranger things have happened and as was pointed out recently the community council office bearers elections threw up some strange results, none more so than Royston/Wardieburn that bastion of democracy. When we read the names there were some strange choices, how can one of the most experienced activists in the community be left out, and this was repeated through out the community.

Yes indeed new people should be encouraged to be active, but not hand picked by the local councillor, so she can control it. but ignoring the most experienced of activists you play a dangerous game, two things can happen 1. they might just fade into the background and dissapear, or 2. jump up and bite you on the bum.

So as election time comes ever closer and our establisment councillors, and not to forget our caring sharing M.S.P the invisible man himself Chisholm start to con your vote from you, just take a second look at your ballot paper, you never know, you just never know.    

Friends and readers. We have been informed by our source that a meeting took place on tuesday 9-05-06 between social work personel, unison, and a doctor. Also present at this meeting was the other victim of the Muirhouse bully.

At this meeting it was clearly stated that an investigation would take place which will include what went on during his brief stay at Muirhouse Social Work Centre. This decision is long overdue but welcome. We have every reason to believe that the evidence available more than warrents an investigation, and puts the activities of the bully firmly in the frame.

We were also told by our source, that the bully quote-could not give a f–k[you can fill in the blanks] such is his arrogance and the complacency of his management. Pilton sucks .com will continue to fight against bullying where ever we come across it, and are adament that it has to be removed from the workplace, and the bullys with it.

We are sure that of one thing unless the bully is stopped he will continue, oh of course he will modify his behaviour so as not to arouse suspicion and also to avoid detection, but it is a pretence, unless bullys are stopped they will continue to harrase and undermine those who they feel are a danger to them. So we say to this bully try and bully us, see if you can get away with it. But remember we fight back.

Friends and readers. the votes have been cast the voters have spoken. The ruling party’s arrogance has come back to haunt them. Next year it will be your turn both national and local. We have an interesting contest in Greater Pilton. The establisment councillors will have to decide who gets what and who will be dumped.

But why should it be so. We feel as many in this community that change is overdue and they should all get the boot, and the community should stand its own candidates, with a community agenda, isn’t that a novel idea. But it is not beyond the realms of possibility, as we have spoken to two potential candidates who if decided to stand could well have an excellent chance of beating the labour party machine. One in particular gave an interesting response to us when we asked why he had not stood before. He told us nobody had asked him.

It is that simple. we understand the fear of taking on the party machine, but we also know that people are sick of what is going on and may welcome a change and might even vote for it. The Tories are just a joke and the Lib dems, well nobody really knows what they stand for except which way the wind blows. So the time could well be right for someone to come forward and have a go, what have you got to lose. 

Friends and readers. You will remember that we asked you to keep an eye out or ear open for bullies in the greater Pilton community. Well suprise, suprise a number of people have come forward voicing their concerns about what has been going on at Muirhouse Social Work Centre. And, lo and behold, a former employee has contacted us to say that he to was bullied and as he put it forced out the door by the MUIRHOUSE BULLY.

That is in itself a sad reflection of what has been going on at the Muirhouse Social Work Centre. We do not have the words that would reflect our disgust at this type of behaviour, only to repeat what a senior manager told us, that he would kick ass if this type of behavior was found out to be going on.
