Well friends and readers it is all over. The votes have been counted and the result is in. Trevor tory Davies managed a paltry 3 votes,so was eliminated after the first ballot,isnt it exciting.
That left two in the race Ewan god fearing Aitken and leftie Lizzie[thats a laugh] In the end the good reverend won and has probably handed power away judging by his awful performance on Newsnight the same evening.
What puzzled Pilton Sucks was that the newspaper articles refering to comrade Mcginnis,all called her the left wing candidate, now with any stretch of the imagination,the one thing Elizabeth could not be called is left wing,just examine her lifestyle,that answers everything.
Our Labour propaganda sheet the North Edinburgh News tried their best to get her elected,but we fear that may have worked against her,nobody likes a smart ass.
Oh and while we are at it. As community newspapers come under threat,it may be that the NEN should have concentrated on bringing the real news to their readers,rather than dodgeing the issues. If it had managed to break free of its party loyalties and reported on issues like the mess of the waterfront development, or the scourge of long term unemployment.or the high crime rate,and asked awkward questions of its paymasters,it may well have been thought more of.
Remember your party friends will not save you from the chop,but this community will lose a news sheet which if managed properly,could be a valuable asset,so while you still have breath in your body,get out there and bring the real news to the people,and earn their support,for it is them and only them that can save you.not your party hack comrades.Â
