As our readership numbers continue on the rise,we will continue to do our best to bring you the inside track of what is really going on in Greater Pilton and beyond.

It is such a shame the NEN[NON ENLIGHTNING NEWS] does not do the same,but then again it is firmly in the hands of its Labour paymasters. Still no matter we will carry on bringing you the news nobody wants you to know.

Our continuing campaign against bullying in the workplace has raised peoples awareness of the issue and its serious ramifications,we have brought to you the case of the Muirhouse Two and the abuse they continue to suffer at the caring sharing hands of the Social Work Department.

We have tried to bring to you the corruption that is the waterfront,and will continue to report this important issue.

We at Pilton Sucks will probe where no-one else will for fear of getting dirty. the community is yours,it does not belong to politicians,officials, or any other individual who thinks they have the run of the place.

Of course that does not seem to include Dave[fatboy] Hewitt whose job jumping has to be seen to be believed,how many jobs can one person get in a community. It never ceases to amaze us how people like fatboy can get away with it.His kneepads must have to be constantly re-newed.

So we have like any community our fair share of misfits,undesireables,and ass lickers.That is the rich tapestry of community living,and we will continue to report on the major issues affecting Greater Pilton. We do not have all the answers or all the gossip.but if you know something and would like to share it,drop us a comment and we will pick it up for you.

It may well come as no suprise to learn that our friends in the Social Work Department are at it again. To say we are a little fed up with their knock about antics is an understatement.

It now appears that another person has come forward to complain about the Muirhouse bully,and Management are in a state of panic over what to do.

Simple sack the bully,but that is to easy. What now becomes apparant,is that the Muirhouse Two did indeed tell the truth,and have suffered the indignities of doing so.

We have been told by our Shrubhill source that a campaign of covert harrasment has been conducted against the Muirhouse Two and if it ever got out the papers would have a field day.

Fear not it still might. As the wait of evidence mounts up against the bully, where does that place those who sided with him,and yes it is hard to believe but there seems to be a few,but according to reports support for him is dwindling away to nothing.

It makes those who should have originally investigated this mess look very bad indeed,cover up springs to mind. Naughty naughty.Pilton sucks has consistently said there is no place for bullys in the workplace,that is unless you work for the Social Work Department,and you receive a posting to the far flung reaches of the empire-Muirhouse,where you can bully to your hearts content,comfortable in the knowledge that management will do nothing to prevent it.

But that friends and readers is their downfall.All the proceedures in the world,wont prevent the truth coming out,that bullying was sanctioned and covered up and covered up consistently for a long time. Now we have a third person when will it end,it is a crazy situation. Three people three similar complaints and nothing but running for cover taking place.

It cant go on sooner or later the law will get involved,and then the real fun will start. Remember you can run but you cannot hide.

Well Well Councillor Mcginnis tells us mere mortals that the Waterfront Development has to involve the community more than it is.

Well thats rich coming from someone who has kept secret what is really happening,and has herself tried her best to make sure communication between the developers and the community is kept to a bare minimum.

So why the sudden change of heart,could it be she is worried that her little empire will crumble around her come election day,and she had better do something quick before she gets tossed out of office.

Its to late Liz you have been found out,you are no friend of the community,you have regularly proved that.

No local jobs,no affordable housing, nothing but a tissue of lies and deceit,and it is now coming back to haunt those that promised much but delivered nothing.

Councillor Fitzpatrick does not escape either. Ask him a question regarding the Waterfront,and he will utter his usual its nothing to do with us excuse,but hold on,friend Billy blames European Legislation for restricting the use of local labour,did no one think that this could be challenged directly.

No of course not,that would have meant upsetting their new friends the developers,and we could not have that could we.

So what is abundantly clear,is that our elected rulers done nothing to prevent widescale developing,going unchecked,and freedom to do what they pleased.

We could have if the political will had been there,challenged any European ruling regarding the use of local labour,and forced the issue,given that Greater Pilton is an uemployment blackspot.

So once again we are sold down the river,told lies to and asked to swallow it as there is nothing else to be done.We are the big losers in all this,while the developers and their politician pals are the winners.

But wait on. The local elections are almost upon us and it would seem from conversations in the community that there will be a challenge to the ruling elite.

And Chisholm the communities minister[thats a laugh] cannot run and hide either. They must think we are all fools and will continue to back the ruling elite. Wrong there is a mounting campaign for a challenger to come forward and challenge Chisholm and his record of doing nothing on theWaterfront issue.

Do not be fooled by a few back slapping individuals who think that Chisholm is their friend. He is not. He is ruled by a handful of nonentities,who reselected him,only because there was no challenger.

We are fed up with the cronies of the ruling elite who are more than happy to rule over decay and dis-satisfaction,while quite happy to allow a free hand to greedy developers who would in an instant change their mood to suit the political climate.

We need people who will take these people to task,force the issue of local labour and insist yes insist that priority be given to those who live within  a five mile radius.

Our plucky politicians will tell us that is not possible it is against the law,a law which you have refused to challenge,because it does not suit you to do so.

Yet it is perfectly all right to bus in cheap foreign labour from god knows where. Go up some morning and watch the gangmasters pick the workers for the day. It could become a tourist attraction. It usually takes place in Ferry Road close to the Crewe Toll roundabout at about 7.00am/7.30am.

What have our politicians got to say about that.Of course they will deny any knowledge,but we know,so why dont you,and while you are at it put a stop to it,or as Councillor Fitzpatrick would say ITS NOTHING TO DO WITH US.

Lunacy

Ian Grice a convicted workplace bully has been given a payout by his bosses at North Ayrshire Council,this is the same council which is proposing a £10 a-day charge to vunerable pensioners for day care.

 Grice who was head of building services admitted bullying staff[after an investigation]. Several members of staff quit because they could not stand this pathetic individuals behaviour.

A victim of Grices behaviour Larry Dunne received £105,000 compensation after he told council bosses he could no longer work with Grice.

Unions and politicians have condemed the payout to bully Grice, this thug should really be facing proscecution for his crimes,not rewarded for causing injury.

Our legal advisor tells us that some sort of deal must have been done to hush it all up,seems it did not work to well,as his name and picture is now publicly available.

Name and shame these depraved individuals,and make sure the public know what kind of people they are paying for.We have said before and will say again and again,bullys are cowards and can only operate in a workplace where they can hide away when the heat gets turned up.

They have no morals no courage no principles,just a desire to inflict pain and suffering to hide their own obvious shortcomings. These cretins do a diservice to the public,the public they are there to serve.

We all have a duty to out these parasites who prey on weakness and exploit those they target. There is no place for bullies in the workplace and never will be.

If at any time you feel threatened in your workplace by a bully take action right away,do not wait in the hope it might go away,it will not,it will only get worse.

The lunacy in the minds of the bullys is impossible to understand,that is for the experts to try and unravel,we as a society have to put a stop to their crimes,and not try to analyse it. 

The longer a bully thinks he is getting away with it,the more he feels is behaviour is acceptable,and to top it off,if his line managers do nothing to stop him,not only will he be convinced he is right,he will feel justified in his septic behaviour.

Were is the crime,is it with the bully,yes of course it is,but is it with his managers as well for their blind ignorance in doing nothing,yes of course it is. So you can see a pattern developing,a pattern which starts and ends in cover up. It starts with cover up because nobody has the courage to rock the boat,but friends the boat is beginning to sink anyway,and all you do by covering it up is throw away empty life boats and leave the rat on the sinking ship to contine to spit bile and poison.

So cut out the rot right at the moment you know it exists,do not wait for you to are guilty by association,and must also face judgement. If staff feel the cannot be protected from mindless morons who can only bully their way forward,then what chance does the services which you are meant to deliver  have.

If one person is bullied that is one to many, nobody has the right to demean another, but we know it happens,and we also know it is hidden away to avoid having to do anything about it.

It really does not matter whether a bully has been in post for 5 minutes or 25 years,he has to be punished for his crimes,We at Pilton Sucks and our sister site Edinburgh Sucks will out these thugs,they know who they are,we know who they are,and if we dont we will soon find out.

So wherever you are and in some cases we know where and who you are, we will continue to bring to the publics attention those who wish to harm others. These creatures are nothing but jobsworths incapable of living out there in the real world,just hiding in the public sector where you feel most protected-for the moment.

Could someone explain to us how community job jumper Dave[fatboy]Hewitt has wangled the position of interim manager of the Health Project in Boswall Parkway. A more unhealthy punter you would be hard placed to find.

Questions have to be asked of the management committee,as to why they sanctioned such a move,in fact it is more than likely the meeting was  inquorate,making the decision even more ridiculas.

Fatboy has the knack of being able to jump from one job in the community to another,seemingly oblivious as to wether he is suitable or not for the various positions he has accquired.

He stands out amongst others as one who has profited from the poverty industry in Greater Pilton.Pilton Sucks asks how has this been allowed to happen,who is pulling the strings,or is it the case of patronising management committee members,and getting them on his side. Dosent say much for the members.

Friends and readers you may have noticed on your travels a vandlised car in Boswall Parkway. It has been there for over a week and nothing has been done to remove it. In this modern world of ours you would think it would be simple for the police or whoever else does these things to have it removed.

But dear friends it is after all only Granton not Barnton or our other rich neighbours in Crammond.

You can bet your life if it was lying down at the Waterfront development if would have been moved,couldnt have those nice overpriced shoeboxes being blighted by such unsightly objects like tanned cars.

So Councillor Fitzpatrick it is in your ward get it shifted and try not to use the old it has nothing to do with me excuse.

This is not a dumping ground it is were people try to live their lives,we rely on our noble rulers to ensure that happens,so if we cannot get them to use their influence to rid the community of such unsightly items like stolen and abandoned cars which are then vandlised,what chance do we have if a bigger problem besets us-oh yes and about the Waterfront.

Nearly one in four of the UK managers are rated as bad or dreadful by their UK employees and only 4% of staff would rate their bosses 10 out of ten.

A survey of almost 1,100 UK staff by campaigning group The Good Boss Company, reveals that 58% of respondants have looked for another job because of their bad manager.

Poor leadership and management skills are alienating rather than motivating staff. This is an issue that  employers must address so that bosses aid rather than undermine progress.

This is highlighted blatently in the Social Work Department of Edinburgh City Council, where it would seem,if you want or are on the first rung of the management ladder,the main qualification is right place at the right time and nothing to do with real qualities of leadership, so diseases like bullying are allowed to go un-noticed and are at best covered up to protect those higher up the brown nosing ladder.

Real leadership requires humanity and consideration for others, with the ability to offer a helping hand or supportive voice when necessary.

Pilton Sucks.com supports a radical shake up in managerial traning and root out the rubbish who would drag down a particular service and anyone else round them.

Dr. Fritton, John Travers The Muirhouse Two, are all one way or another victims of bad and distructive management and yet are treated as though it is them who are the problem for coming forward.

We must throw away that watch your back mentality and rid the workplace of those who would hid their own limitations by seeking to hurt others,and then claim innocence of any wrong doing.

One thing is abundantly clear,as long as inadequate managers are allowed to continue and covered up for,the more services will suffer,not immediatly of course, but in time failures and faults,lies and deceit,will show through,and if nobody has the courage to tackle this then what you will have left is management dregs,hiding behind who ever they can with the rule book in their hand.

These individuals are poison and can only do harm if allowed continually to get away with mal practice and deception.

It is up to those who have the interests of others to expose these upstarts, and try to rebuild trust amongst colleagues,this will not happen if you sit on your hands and do nothing, action is required,we know it,you know it.

Good people are being lost because bad managers are getting away with harrassment,bullying, cheating and deceiving,for those who feel or have felt the brunt or even know about it,this is your time to stand up and be counted,you can bring a breath of fresh air,where stale air exists.

Take this opportunity to do the right thing,do not hide or turn away this can only prolong bad management, rip away the gloss finish from bad managers and lo and behold, the real person is revealed,nasty,small minded low lifes,determined to ruin others to cover up their own faults.

Morbidity patterns from general practice worldwide highlight the high prevelence of mental health problems,the commonesy being depression,anxiety, and sleep disturbance. Many of the sufferers admit to stress at work,and some of them are casualties of workplace bullying,defined as persistent,offensive, abusive,intimidating,malicious,or insulting behaviour,abuse of power,or unfair penal sactions.

These make the recipient feel upset,threatened,humiliated,or vunerable,undermine their self confidence and may cause them to suffer stress.

Rayner and Hoelt describe five categories of bullying behaviour-threats to professional status,threats to personal standing, isolation ,overwork and destablisisation.

A deadly combination of economic rationalism, increasing competition,and the current fashion for tough,dynamic, “macho” management styles have created a culture in which bullying can thrive,producing “toxic” workplaces.Such workplaces perpetuate dysfunction,fear,shame,and embarrassment,intimidating those who dare to speak out and nurturing a silent epidemic.

Various studies point to an emerging global phenomenon with a growing evidence base particularly from Scandinavia where Sweden and Norway are the only European countries with legislation specific to bullying

Workplace bullying has been estimated to affect up to 50% of the United Kingdoms workplace at some time in their working lives with annual prevalences of up to 38%.and is becoming increasingly identified as a major occupational stressor. In the United Kingdom costs have been estimated at £2-30bn per annum,although research indicates figures closer to the lower end of the range.

Friends and readers. We have been informed that money is being asked for if you are dumping rubbish at the tip in seafield. One of our readers took her three piece suite to the dump in seafield and was told by an operator that she would have to bung Davie a fiver to dump her suite.

Our reader objected to this and forced the issue saying she would report this if she was not allowed to dump her suite in a council tip,which after all is owned by all of us.

We are not sure if this is a council policy to give a backhander to dump your rubbish,but we think not. we calculated that friend Davie must be making a few bob doing this,all the more to spend on his leisure pursuit of golf. FORE  

HOW MUCH!

 Friends and readers. Two of our associates went house viewing on Sunday 9-09-06 to sample the delights of the erection called Corinthian Quay. Our associates visited the three bedroomed show flat on the second floor. With the living room and kitchen combined fish frying might be out of the question.

The three bedrooms were to say the least a bit on the small side and there was no natural light in the bathroom. They were disapointed in the overall size of the flat but remarked it had a nice view from the wendy house type window. there was a balcony which was fine if you like that sort of thing,but in this climate it would be out of action for most of the year.

And for all this magnificance and craftsmanship, £279,000. Yes thats right £279,000 and the person that showed them round said it with a smile on their face.

When it was asked if that would be considered as affordable, a blank stare came accross her face,that says it all. These shoeboxes which are called appartments or flats in old money,are not child friendly,there is no back green old fashioned we know but important to a childs ability to play and socialise.

All in all we were disappointed in the report we received but sadly not suprised. We can only hope Councillor Mcginnis has a more roomy penthouse in mind.
