HOW MUCH!

Friends and readers. Two of our associates went house viewing on Sunday 9-09-06 to sample the delights of the erection called Corinthian Quay. Our associates visited the three bedroomed show flat on the second floor. With the living room and kitchen combined fish frying might be out of the question.

The three bedrooms were to say the least a bit on the small side and there was no natural light in the bathroom. They were disapointed in the overall size of the flat but remarked it had a nice view from the wendy house type window. there was a balcony which was fine if you like that sort of thing, but in this climate it would be out of action for most of the year.

And for all this magnificance and craftsmanship, £279,000. Yes thats right £279,000 and the person that showed them round said it with a smile on their face.

When it was asked if that would be considered as affordable, a blank stare came accross her face, that says it all. These shoeboxes which are called appartments or flats in old money, are not child friendly, there is no back green old fashioned we know but important to a childs ability to play and socialise.

All in all we were disappointed in the report we received but sadly not suprised. We can only hope Councillor Mcginnis has a more roomy penthouse in mind.

    hi
i actually live in an apartment on the 5th floor in the seperate block on lower granton road

been here since march 07, lived in the area and though it would be a nice spot to live, sold up a property thats now same or more value than the flat and wasted 8 months rent and storage cost due to entry date problems , yes youre right about the balcony its only been used 3 times although summer wasnt that good . ..

we`ve had problems since moving in, snagging isses , most people have some issue or another .and i can see builder here till mid 2008 , which is not amusing

were looking to sell up when we get the chance but havent had that chance due to twits in one form or another .

most of the people here are febeble, letter writers and all that not direct action , retired types and people with too much money and dont care ( dunno if its there own hard earned money )

our room sizes are very good compared to others i know ive been there and done that , yes its not child friendly , i dont think s mant 2 be and having a back green on a harbour wouldnt really make sense although all the toe rags from aroundbout all come and scratch the cars and damage or vadalise what thay can so it is a back green of sorts , people who use it dont actually live here ….oh and its used as a toilet

apartmants are for retired or proffessional types , not familes , id have not bought one if there was a family here due to noise and families just cause havoc , this is 00s familys are a bit yesterday , not a lot of people have 4/6 kids , maybe futher into the scheme i can see from my window but those days are gone - do they make 4 /5 beds flats ???

funny thing about the prices- peoplebuy 1 bedders for 150kdoeshat mean id pay 450 for 3 bed people want things for nothing and they want it all nowaday - it is edinburgh afterall not greenock or some run down wee town in the middle of knowhere edinburgh properties edinburgh prices ,,, one thing it drivesout the undesirables …

    i
