Strength In Numbers

 George one of our associates has informed us that he has been contacted by a group of Social Workers informing him that a newly formed group has got together to actively move against workplace bullying.

One Social Worker in particular who has been the leading light in this move to inform on workplace bullies is from Criminal Justice,she has told George that she and many others are aware who the Muirhouse Social work Centre bully is,and that it has been common knowledge for a long time. She has told George that she and her colleagues will report any instances of bullying to line management,and if they do nothing then they will go to the union and the press.

We remind our new friends that there is already several complaints against an individual employed in Criminal Justice within Muirhouse Social Work Centre,and that line management have deliberatly covered it up and continued to punish the victims in an attempt to wear them down and force them to give up. Pilton Sucks is on top of this situation and George who has taken a personal interest in seeing justice gets done,has told us that this is one bully who won’t get away with it however long it takes.

We are pleased that others are joining the fight against workplace bullying. It is a long hard fight but one that has to be won if the workplace is to be free of jobs worth thugs who try and manage through threats and intimidation,rather that support staff. We have had a number of reports recently with regards to happenings at this infamous centre in Muirhouse. We would love to print them and let you in on what goes on there. But as one of the victims has a legal case pending we will hold fire for now.

It has been clear from the start of our campaign against workplace bullying that people are prepared to talk about this workplace sickness, and our mailbox has been red hot with personal experiences and those that witnessed this ugly behaviour. We where amazed to find that a colleague of the bully in Muirhouse getting in touch to distance himself from this thug,we found that rather amusing as to why it took so long to get in touch,feeling the heat perhaps.

We repeat that employers have a duty of care to their staff,we know that the Health and Social Care Department have negleted their responsibilities and tried to cover up bad practice and ugly behaviour. It is crystal clear that changes to practice is long overdue and that bullys be removed from the workplace and criminal charges be brought against those that would harm others. It should be encouraged to report this kind of behaviour and it be taken seriously and dealt with. Pilton Sucks has launched a nation wide campaign alonside a number of organisations actively campaigning against workplace bullying. The horror stories we have heard make us even more determined to get this behaviour banned from the workplace and make it an instant dismissal crime and then reported to the authorities.

Then and only then this may have the desired affect and make thugs think twice. For those bullies where their own limitations cause their behaviour you must be removed from any position of authority and never again allowed to cause pain and suffering to others. These are the real abusers,the serial bullies,those that can’t stop unless they are about to be found out, then comes the smiles,and the hiding away,the cowering in the corner looking for anything or anybody to hide behind to cover up their own behaviour.

So as the bully sucks up to yet another new manager in Muirhouse,the cases against him goes on however long it takes. So we say well done to those Social Workers who are coming together to inform on this kind of behaviour. So bullies look out there might be one near you soon. 

Rose Coloured Specs

Well friends and readers while this community continues to be engulfed by the sleazy revelations coming out of the private Waterfront club,where exactly does the community stand several years into this development. The promise of inclusion is now just seen for what it was,a bad joke. The promise of local employment has vanished,that is of course if anyone ever believed it in the first place. The vision of social and affordable housing was more a mirage than a vision,and the person who is conveniently getting the blame has left for pastures new in Jersey.

So what now for the future of this non inclusive development. Are we to get more false dawns and promises as past dubious parctices come to light, Pilton Sucks is convinced more sleaze is still to come as there are  a number of unanswered questions to be addressed,in particular why was this board[WEL] allowed to operate in secrecy,and if this extravagent spending was proper why was it kept a secret? The former chair tells us she knew little of what was going on,nobody seriously believes her,even her dwindling number of hangers on would find that hard to believe.

No friends and readers we where all lead a merry dance while a handful helped themselves and are now trying to body swerve their way out of it. There should be a full public enquirey into the running and chairmanship of this board and a detailed investigation into those that benifited personaly from their membership of this discredited board.

Never in this community’s history have so few conned so many and then tried to justify their mal-practice. All trust is now gone and the former chair is isolated however much she tries to shift blame. There is an air of panic in behaviour like that,instead of owning up to what went on,the plan of denial and blame shifting is in full flow. Many in this community feel badly let down and cheated.

This development should have been a beacon of hope and renewal for this community,instead it has been a windfall for a favoured few,and the community has been sold down the drain on the back of greed and deceit. We hear the new CEO talking about local jobs and traditional housing,Pilton Sucks would like to remind him that was the original idea,but it went missing somewhere on the back of what is there now, slums of the future,overly expensive slums but slums never the less.

For the comrades of the fomer chair they to must now look at their own position in the community and realise there is no place for them either. The times are a changing,and not before time,it may well be that some of these well,some might say overly funded local projects will be closely looked at and some interesting questions may arise, as to how these large sums where arrived at. Still that’s for another day not to far away,in the meantime the community needs to be included in any future plans,and never again can a chairperson be allowed to hold court on the backs of the people.   

Highland Clearances

Well good and true trusty readers,it seems that there was tartan a-plenty given out down Waterfront-public cash register-Way. No expence of someone elses money was spared to jolly themselves up and look the part,Rob Roy would have turned in his Grave.

Once more we see mis-use of position and money by our esteemed betters. As we tugged merrily at our forelocks as the names of the great and the good where mentioned from time to time,and many did sit at the feet of mis-representation,and should be ashamed of themselves,for if more scrutiny was demanded from the community do you think they would have spent what they spent?

Being bought cheap requires a great deal of stupidity or complicity probably both. It seems if you bother to read the Evening News that our loyal and honest Councillor has a different photo for every piece of scandal which comes out of this private club. We hope she has a large collection,she may need it.

Not me, everything above board, then why did this or any other community not know what money was being wasted ,and on what. Clandistine and covert operations where needed to keep this emerging scandal quite, and they might just have got away with it had Labour won the election. 

Regardless of screams of innocence, this is a scandal of fast becoming epic proportions. It must be a bitter pill to swallow for the old pals act to realise that their chair and pal was not quite open about what was going on. But of course the old pals act are now in hiding and looking after their own piece of turf that they received through patronage.

Pilton Sucks  believes what is coming out of Waterfront Edinburgh Limited is nothing short of a disgrace and sells this community short,very short. Where are our beloved MP and MSP in all this, nowhere it seems and that is to their detriment. No comment in this case is  revealing a lot about what they don’t want to confront. Labours vote is down and falling,possibly our honourable friend and loyal MP Mr. Lazarowicz does not wish to see it disappear down the toilet should he come out of hiding and explain his position in all this,and his lack of clarity on the situation.

It could not possibly be he would try and come up with and tried and failed catch phrase,the one size fit’s all ,NOWGHT TO DO WITH ME,

What An Upstart

It seems over at Home Care where Bill King reigns supreme unrest amongst the staff is threatening to boil over. bill or tosser as he is widely known has been regularly giving his own opinions and refusing to listen to anybody elses. Where do the city get these people. This self opinionated lard ass has lorded over meetings pushing his own agenda which by all accounts is crap.

Let us give you an example. Over at Chesser House there is a bank of emergency phones so home care staff can get in contact should there be an emergency. Tosser King has told everybody that the phones will be answered in a maximum of 30 seconds. This was recently put to the test at a meeting where tosser was present. A call was placed to the phone bank at Chesser house and it rang and rang for 25 minutes before someone bothered to answer it. Terrific support and back up don’t you think.

 Tosser King is another of these managers that the council manage to pluck from obscurity and place in a position of authority way beyond their capabilities. Tosser moans at meetings about staff abusing him yet he puts them at risk by telling them they have backup when all the time it would appear they don’t.

Home care staff are front line staff who are in a vunerable position and need back up,it seems tosser king  couldn’t care less. 

Turn A Blind Eye

It seems friends and readers,that the city’s chief Social Worker or is it head of quality and standards who knows,is unwilling or unable to do anything about the work place bullying which plagues Muirhouse Social Work Centre. Our source at Waverley Court tells us,that chief Social Worker Michelle Millar,who got the short straw when the other lot could not find a way out,has abandoned all hope of finding a settlement and has turned and looked the other way.

We are told that at least two complaints hit her desk possibly more and she did not have a clue what to do and has returned to the tried and tested method of clobbering the victims. This is shameful as the evidence that we are told that is available points to serious workplace bullying at the infamous Muirhouse Centre. Right from the beginning of this travesty cover up and pass the buck has been the order of the day rather than deal with this serious problem. The bully is still on the loose and no action has been taken against him or his sidekick.

Staff are now at risk in this centre and we know of at least one further member of staff who was forced to leave due to the behaviour dished out to him,what more evidence is required. The merry go round of mangerial change in this centre makes you dizzy and still no action is taken. Does it require the press to investigate this deviants behaviour,it may well do as his seniors seem to be totally oblivious to what stares them square in the face.

Pilton Sucks through our asscociate George who has been following this mess is completely at a loss to explain the lack of any kind of action taken to deal with this thug. We are told there is a mountain of evidence available to nail this bully and it continues to grow,yet still no action. Our legal advisor tells us that should this ever reach a court of law there could  indeed be serious repercusions. There can be no place in the workforce for small minded jobs worths who abuse their position and hide behind every skirt they can.

Staff are not safe as long as bullys are allowed to get away with it. So Ms Millar as you sit down to your morning coffee and tie your blinkers on,remember this you had the opportunity to do something about bullying,you did nothing except run and hide,Pilton Sucks won’t.

Exit Stage Left

As you know friends and readers most communities have a grapevine and this community is no different. We have heard on the North Edinburgh grapevine that the wife of a certain Edinburgh MP whose name has been passed to us is a member of the Pilton Equalties Project management committee We would advise her to resign forth with to avoid any awkward moments. Of course this is only our humble opinion.

Good Health

So friends and readers expensive gym equipment was bought by our Waterfront friends so they could while away the hours keeping fit while shafting the community. Of course it turns out that only the chosen few could use this equipment and of course our honourable Councillor empress Maginnis knew nothing about it.

While community projects have to beg for everything they get except for the one or two that had political patronage,the Granton information centre being an example,these vultures thought nothing of spending lots of dosh on themselves,while keeping it all a secret. It is now all coming out the extravagence ,the waste,the snubbing of the community,the lies and deceit which surrounded this cabal of chancers.

This is indeed a sorry and dishonest state of affairs. There can be no doubt that Councillor Maginnis must now do the decent thing and resign instead of holding on by her grubby fingertips. No matter what kind of cobbled up excuse is issued she must go and quickly.

While this community was kept in the dark about what was going on down Waterfront way.these parasites where helping themselves to public money and now have the cheek to try and justify it. Did Izatt jump before he was pushed, is he the scapegoat for a political scam,or possibly he seen the writing on the wall and had a notion that Labour would be thumped at the polls,and all the dodgy dealings  down Waterfront way would come out.

This community is rightly sickened by what has gone on,conflicts of interest a plenty,blind eyes turned to less than honest dealings,and the favoured few feathering their own nests on the backs of the rest. Pilton Sucks said all this some time ago and have now been proved to be right all along.  We are saddened that this is the case and would much rather have only positive things to say. But alas greed got in the way along with human weakness and worst of all abuse of position something which is unforgivable and will leave a bad taste in the mouth of this community for a long time to come.

We would also like to note that for some time we have heard rumours about the over favouring of the Granton Information Centre and where it gets all it’s money from. It seems that a number of community activists are less than happy that this project receives special treatment. We believe that this warrents an investigation and a close look at who is or has been on their management committee may point us in the right direction. 

We already know what the tie up is but we will wait to see if the new city administration takes a closer look at the workings of this well funded project. Meanwhile as the fair weather friends dive for cover and deny at least three times,they benifitted in any way,we would advise the new city administration to take breath and look closely at the workings of the Information project and how it managed to well out punch it’s weight and receive so much public money and why.

Another Jigsaw Piece

Friends and readers. We have received a report from our friend over at Children and Families,that another name has entered the workplace bullying cover up. Our friend tells us that Maureen Adair who is employed in personel or to give it it’s political correct name HR has for reasons known only to the caring sharing Health and social Care Department been given the task of stalking one of the victims of the bullying scandal at Muirhouse Social Work department.

How this has happened is queer to say the least. Could it be that the harrasment of workplace bullying victims is being spread to lighten the load and take some of the heat off Muirhouse. Instead of trying to solve the problem and deal with the bullying this bright eyed and bushy tailed department seeks to clobber the victims into submission.

Meanwhile we understand yet another manager has been installed in the Muirhouse centre,does the penny not drop as to what is going on here or has blinkers been issued as standard equpiment. When will somebody wake up and realise that the more this cover up goes on the worse it gets for those involved. It seems that the policy is to make the victim’s life a misery and hope they go away,that’s policy on the hoof and doomed to failure.

We understand that at least two of the victims are well down the road in finalising a legal claim against both the department  and the bully. They can run but they cannot hide from their obligations and responsibilities and may yet have to answer to a higher authority for the complete mis-handling of this sorry saga. Pilton Sucks has spoken to on an informal basis just last week to a former senior employee of the  Health and Social Care department and we where told, that not only has there been a serious cover up, but as soon as allegations of bullying surfaced at the Muirhouse Centre several key personel in this twisted saga closed ranks knowing if the truth got out then several heads would be on the chopping block.

By transferring a criminal justice problem to Children and Families merely tries to confuse the issue and dilute a serious problem. Hiding behind policies and proceedures to protect asses is at best weak and and at worse down right deceitful. We advise Ms. Adair to throw this problem back from whence it came and let the rightful owners wash their own dirty linen. Bullying is a crime against the person, we know that and everybody else seems to as well. The only characters that don’t is those that choose to protect the criminal.

Hair Pulling

We hear from our social work friend over at Chidren and families that Frank the Chancer Phelen is moping the sweat from his brow as he tries to find the whistle blower who is outing what is going on at the secure unit Howdenhall. As he tries to undermine the staff to try and cover his own blunders his own position must be looked at too.

We have informed Unison of Phelen’s attempt to refuse the staff union representation,we where told-let him try,we know all about Phelen. Once again the city could be in trouble. They cobbled up an excuse to give to the papers but the information coming from these units tells a different story. Demoralised  staff ,threats of action against staff who dare speak out,and constant spying on staff activities allows Phelen to play the good guy,while the staff suffer.

This is unfortunatly all to familar a story within the City of Edinburgh,where managers are given authority beyond their capability and then bully and threaten staff to cover up their own failures,getting senior management to back them up,which they will because after all they approved the promotions in the first place. Just take a look at what has happened with workplace bullying at Muirhouse Social Work Centre. George who has been working on this has time after time been astounded at the level of cover up and incompetence as the buck is passed from clown to clown.

Nothing now sadly suprises us about the level of lies deciet and incompetence most of which is blamed on front line staff,it’s easier than outing the real culprits. But we hear overtones of change coming from the new city administration,who we are told are determined to rid from their employ the rotton apples. We have some constructive advice for them,start in Muirhouse and work through the rest. We are happy to help. 

Our Poor MSP’s

Over at our sister site Edinburgh Sucks you will have read that George-past his sell by date-Foulkes is asking for more money,no wonder Hearts got rid of him. Our oh so poorly paid MSP’s must be crying all the way to the bank as they raid the public coffers. If Mr. Foulkes is unhappy about his terrible salary then he should along with anyone else who is unhappy with their lot, go out into the real world and see if he would command the same wages.

Of course their basic salary’s does not include any outside intersts they may have which would make up their terribly low salary to a more acceptable one. We wonder does anyone of these poorly paid MSP’s live in a run down council house,does anyone of them struggle to meet their living costs,can anyone of them who have more than one house fail to meet the mortgage payments. Our heart breaks for them their greed is touching and makes us plebs lose sleep worrying about them.

Why then is there such a queue to join the club at Holyrood,why do these would be MSP’s cut each other’s throats to join this fat cat club. Could it be they want to see how Joe ordinary manages to survive on these poverty wages.
