Done But Not Quite Dusted

Gerry Imrie formally the then  interim manager of the Six Circle project got a phone call from Jimmy Butler[an employee of the Pilton Partnership who the Partnership had offered to support and advise the Six Circle Project] saying Elizabeth Maginnis had phoned him,Irene Garden had just phoned her in a flap and not making any sense about the previous night’s Six Circle meeting-another clear breach of the Six Circle Project’s confidentiality-and could he go along and see EM that lunchtime.

EM basically informed GI that the merger was a forgone conclusion and told him to behave himself. It seems after this meeting Mr. Butler advised the Six Circle interim manager that he should ask for another meeting with EM tell her who he was and cut himself a deal. It seems Mr. Butler was told there had been enough clandestine meetings already.

In a meeting at PEP shortly after for both projects to get together to see if a merger was feasible. EM gave a detailed presentation on how the merger would take place and stated that she would present this to the funders. When Six Circle’s interim manager GI raised concerns that there seemed to be no mention of Six Circle’s services Mr. Butler jumped up on cue and slated Six Circle’s services and announced to everyone in the room that a merger was the only way ahead.

In their defence Mr. Butler was reminded that the funders or anyone else for that matter had no problems with the services of Six Circle and that he was not Qualified to criticize Six Circle’s services.

The merger went ahead.

Irene Garden “disappeared” for the last three months of Six Circle’s existance and no one at Six Circle could get a hold of her.

This was because she had been working as PEP’s Chairperson for those three months and as we all know still is today. Quite a turn round for someone who could not raise enough voted for any position on PEP’s Management Committee at PEP’s previous AGM- as she applied for them all-due to her previous poor record.

To quote an Edinburgh Councillor” IT SEEMS TO ANYONE LIKE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST HERE. The connection is odd to say the least.

What reward did Mr. Butler receive for his services to EM. Why did the slippery treasurer Don Millar employed in a senior position within the Health and Social Care Department[Criminal Justice] not speak up as there was Social Work monies invoved with this project at the time. Many people know Millar to be a spineless individual but he had a duty to call time on this murky merger.

It is clear that underhand methods where used to force a merger with PEP and undoubtably favours where granted. Once again we see corruption in this community and the mere fact that the Partnership was used as a hammer to hit Six Circle must be called into question.

Pilton sucks through Helen our reporter tried to contact the spineless Don Millar but of course he was unavailable for comment. It is long overdue that these people where brought to account for their behaviour. Six Circle had it’s problems like many other projects but it worked with very vunerable people in this community and warranted more support than the back stabbing it received.
