It seems friends and readers the main reason that the Deafening Silence letter with regards to PEP was not printed in Octobers NEN was that it was LEAKED to Councillor Maginnis and as only one person knew about it at the time the leak must have come from the NEN office-SURELY NOT DAVE.

Councillor Maginnis then made a threatening phone call to Mary Burnside[NEN’s editor] This call was witnessed between our beloved and honest Councillor and Ms Burnside where our Lizzie was seen and heard bawling and shouting and of course denying everything as usual. The call concluded with the threat that if Ms Burnside went ahead and printed, our Lizzie would have her in court.

As we all know the letter was never printed Ms. Burnside instead choosing to state in her Editor’s note on Oct’s NEN’s feedback that the reason she was not going to print the truth was that it was factually incorrect. It stated that irrefuatuble proof of irregular conduct,at the local project had been submitted to CEC and OSCR, the Editor had contacted both organisations  and was told this was not the case and went on to say the factual content of any letters will be checked and where these facts cannot be verified the letter will not be published.

Subsequently Ms. Burnside was sent the whole”screed” on the Councillor and was also supplied the evidence that contact had been made with OSCR and the CEC on the 27-9-07 Namely 2 recorded delivery slips

A letter was subsequently enclosed with correspondence to Ms. Burnside requesting a retraction and that the letter be printed.

Pilton Sucks very own Oscar, Prat of the year is attracting lots of votes. This year there are three ways to vote,word of mouth, written vote ,or e-mail vote to either pilton or Edinburgh Sucks. We have had another nominee put forward for this coveted award. None other than WEL[Waterfront Edinburgh Limited] who did their best and where sucessful in excluding the Greater Pilton Community from having anything to do,in any way with the Waterfront Development.

Couple that with the mis-use of monies,which we may add the chair[our Lizzie] of course knew nothing about and blamed the lot on her ex best pal Izzat. WEL is a worthy nominee and was put forward by several members of the community. Up to now we have had over two hundred votes with 3 candidates close together.

The current holder of this coveted title  Lizzie empress Maginnis, Mary Burnside the independent editor[HA HA] of the NEN and wanna be but never will be Irene Garden. Remember voting finishes on the Friday 30th November and nominations close on Wedensday 21st November. In this most democratic of all elections you can vote more than once,in fact you can cast your vote three times,so if you cannot make up your mind who is most deserving of prat of the year you can vote for three different candidates.

On the other hand if you are certain which is your chosen candidate you can cast three votes in their direction. Last years winner,our Lizzie only pulled away from the rest of the field in the final two days of voting. We think she probably voted a few times for herself,just to brag she had won another election.

Friends and readers. Our prat of the year contest is hotting up with over two hundred votes coming in from over the city,but as you would expect mainly from Greater Pilton.Pilton sucks own version of the Oscar is given for outstanding pratish behaviour throughout the year. Another nominee has been put forward by some friends in Craigmillar. For his outstanding contribution and dedication to feathering his own nest and shafting the punters,our eighth nominee is Mike i’m squeaky clean Rosendale.

The race is on to see who can win this coveted award and take the title if possible from our mate and community champion lizzie Maginnis. She won’t be easy to beat but early indications show that Irene Garden is giving her a run for her money.

Friends and readers we have just received a report from our reliable source at Waverley Court,who tells us that there is now general agreement amongst several senior managers excluding Michelle Miller our favourite Chief Social Worker who is in favour of staff abuse that there was in fact serial bullying taking place over a long period of time at the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre.

It appears startling new evidence has come to light which proves beyond doubt that staffs health was put at risk while working in the community with people on Community Service. We spoke to one service user who admited to us that he carried a weapon while on Community Service,and nothing was said or done about it even though other’s knew.

It has come to light that at least two of the victms of bullying and abuse where reported to have said they informed their line manager of weapons being carried while on Community Service but nothing was done about it.

This evidence was known about but we are told was buried ,as one manager said,to protect our own asses. We will be passing a copy of this evidence to the Director for his comments. One victim who has recently been dismissed told Pilton Sucks that It was well known your life would be made hell if you where unlucky enough to work in Muirhouse. The staff particularly in the Community Service team where treated like shit by, in the words of this dismissed victim  a serial bully who everyone knew about but did nothing about.

Market Street has been informed that the law has now become involved and real answers will now have to be given including the evidence that was covered up. Another two victims of abuse have had leagal assistance and it is now clear that it really is only a matter of time before this farce of a cover up becomes public knowledge,and those that turned a blind eye to serial bullying will have to face up to the damage they contributed to and the lack of ation they took.

Pilton Sucks stands ready with it’s own dossier gathered over a long period of time which clearly points to bullying of a savage nature and abuse which in our view consitutes a criminal offence. There is nowhere to run or hide,no skirts for this thug to hide behind,Pilton Sucks will flush him out and we will be more than glad when the papers pick up this story of abuse ,threats of physical violence,staff put in intolerable situations with their safety put at risk.

Remember readers 5 victims have come forward,yes 5 who tell the same story of abuse and threats,and still when management had the opportunity to put a stop to this unacceptable behaviour they done nothing except turn a blind eye to what everybody else within Criminal Justice knew that there was a serial bully on the loose abusing staff and getting away with it.

We sent George round to this office on Monday to ask if this thug was available for his comments on this situation. George was told that no-one was available to speak to him,but leave his name and number and someone would get back to him. George declined the kind offer and left knowing full well this thug was hiding inside the building,and using others as his shield.

We hope management see sense and get rid of this thug,but alas this is unlikely as it will show courage and that is something in very short supply. No it is far easier to attack the victims ruin what careers they had and save this sorry thug’s skin. The caring sharing Health and Social Care Department, where our chief Social Worker believes abuse of staff is acceptable.

Howdenhall secure unit has raised it’s ugly head again. According to our inside source Evening News reporter Adam Morris who recently wrote an article on matters concerning said unit should have asked fly boy Frank Phelen why he knew one of the residents had 64 criminal charges against him,and asked the resident to play the daft laddie,particularly when this resident Darren had some serious questions to answer.

Once again Frankie fly boy Phelen is up to his neck in it and according to the employee who works there there is a witch hunt  in full flow in an attempt to batton down the hatches so the Evening news or any other newspaper does not find out what is really going on in this unit. Staff have been threatened with dismissal if they speak out about what is happening at this and the St Cathrines unit and staff are being asked if they have access to computers at home.

This is an abuse of management authority and all done to keep fly boy Phelen looking the clean tattie which of course he isn’t. The employee is rightly afraid of whistle blowing because of what might happen but is determined to let the outside world know what is really going on in the closeted world of these secure units.

The public have a right to know how their interests are not being looked after by fly boy Phelen and his yes men. These units are not Mr. Phelen’s personal kingdom and there is no doubt certainly according to our inside source that Phelen’s management style or more to the point lack of it should be looked at closely and our source is in no doubt that the cracks would appear very quickly.

We are also told that Unison is monitoring the situation closely with regards to threats to staff and the climate of fear that Phelen has introduced to protect himself. It seems that on at least two occasions Unison have been informed of intimidation of staff and dodgy record keeping. Surely the general public have a right to expect the highest ethics given that these units deal with some of the most vunerable youngsters in the city. It seems fly boy Phelen thinks otherwise.

Friends and readers. As the workplace bullying scandal which took place at the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre continues on,we have received a report that one of the victims has been dismissed,truely a sinister turn of events as management continues to try and sweep this scandal under the carpet.

Pilton sucks has informed it’s legal advisor of this ridiculas situation as the victims of this scandal continue to be perscecuted. Once again we witness the cowardly acts of an impotent management which allows a bully to continue in employment while the victims feel the full wrath of a Department riddled with incompetents. Pilton sucks is disgusted but not suprised as this Department of caring sharing back stabbers fumbles it’s way through this mess.

Today Friday 9-11-07 we tried without luck,suprise suprise to get an explaination into this latest piece of madness,when we did manage to speak to someone after over an hour trying,we where told no-one was available for comment, this in a department which is top heavy with pen pushers.

The sheer madness of dismissing a victim of bullying while leaving the perpetrator in post is beyond words but consistent with this departments attitude since this bullying scandal surfaced. Not only did they know there was-in their words- a managerial problem in Muirhouse, they apparently did nothing about it allowing staff to be bullied and humilated while keeping their backs firmly turned away from the problem refusing to do anything about it.

Pilton Sucks had no problem finding out as George contacted a number of people in Criminal Justice who where well aware of what was going on at that office. George as you know heard from a couple of former part time employees who confirmed that bullying was taking place. All this knowledge and nothing was done to prevent it,strange don’t you think.

Yet we found out that there was a reception a while back at the City Chambers which the bully had organised and had invited some of the very people who had turned their backs on what was going on. It seems it pays to crawl and lick ass. This strange and sinister turn of events which sacks a victim yet retains a bully has to be investigated and not by his mates. George is now right on the case and will keep us fully informed of progress.

Pilton sucks cannot and will not be bullied, we will not stand by and watch people who have been employed to work in this community treated as something you might step in. Pilton sucks seeks the truth and we have most of it already. We are well aware of who the guilty parties are and the major cover up that has gone on to protect a serial bully. Sacking a victim does not end it,it only agrivates an already inflamed situation.   

Friends and readers,our prat of the year nomination is well under way and our editor Anne received another nomination for our version of the Oscars. A reader in the East side of the city has nominated the missing Unison branch secretary George Lee. Now we have seven nominations. Remember readers nominations close at the end of the month.

Just as Anne was finishing writing the latest post,we had a further nominee.

None other than Scot-mid in Crewe Road North nominated by a member of the public for having the longest queues known to man,and the poorest service in existance. A regular user of Scot-Mid this senior citizen told Pilton Sucks via Helen our roving reporter that the service is just terrible and if she was more mobile she would shop elsewhere. According to Jean all they are interested in is selling the willing mugs lottery tickets.

A truely worthy nominee.

Well friends and readers,it seems our prat of the year award has grabbed the imagination of the community,as two more candidates have been put forward. 

Two staff members at PEP have nominated their commander in chief Lizzie Maginnis,who was of course last years run-away winner. the second lucky candidate is by far and away the most popular nominee so-far, none other than Dave fatboy Hewitt our very own community job applicant.
