Friends and readers. For those that have not read it you should log on to the excellent Edinburgh Sucks where the news is always red hot and the info even hotter.

Edinburgh sucks has lead the way in opening up the corridors of power to the ordinary joe public,giving an insight into how the voters are really treated. Pilton Sucks as you can imagine is a great admirer of our friends over at Edinburgh Sucks,and as you know we to try in our own small way to bring you the goodies that others don’t want you to know about.

We are aware that certain members of the great and good Community hate the very names of Edinburgh and Pilton Sucks which shows up the corrupt practices that are going on.

Since it’s inception Pilton Sucks has built up a network of associates who bring us the news and views that others would rather stay hidden. In the recent pass Edinburgh Sucks just missed out on an Evening standards award which is a tribute to all involved with this excellent site and proves beyond doubt that there is a demand for the truth.

Pilton Sucks is aware that it is a thorn in the side of many of the great and the good and those that hide what is going on and then try to paint a picture of calm waters and all is right.

Our readers know different Pilton and Edinburgh Sucks are dedicated to bringing to our readers and friends the true nature of events that surround us. We now find we have friends in high places who realise that both these sites provide the public with information they would otherwise never get to hear or read about.

We at Pilton sucks have friends and associates that have come to realise that information needs to get into the public domain that if it doesn’t then Joe public will continue to be fed the usual brand of crap and lies designed to keep the plebs happy and contended with their lot.

Edinburgh sucks mass appeal is no accident and proves people are desperate to know what is really going on instead of the shit they are constantly fed. We at Pilton Sucks in our own small but growing way are trying to do exactly the same.

We both fight against  those that would-not give them pay feed them hay they will get pie in the sky when they die-.

That little poetic piece came out of the part of Labours clause four,only that was the part they did not want you to see,so they accidentally missed it out,and then they took out the part that nobody believed anyway.

Friends and readers. Our associate George was out and about this week looking for any bits of info that may have been floating about.

It reached his ears that at least one of the victims of the bullying at the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre is near to a committee hearing. George was also told by an inside source at Waverley court which has more leaks than a second hand Barrett house that this has produced silent panic should this hearing go ahead and the truth come out about what went on at this infamous centre in Muirhouse.

Our dossier is available should it be required to further enhance the dreadful goings on which occurred over a long period of time in this centre. It is now beyond any doubt that serial bullying took place and it was covered up to not just to protect the thug who perpetrated these crimes but  to protect those that should have known better.

Ironically we hear on the Community grapevine that this infamous centre could soon be demolished as part of a renovation programme for the area. That’s one piece of great news and if it does happen then watch the rats and one in particular scurry out from this building and try and find another hole to hide in. 

Friends and readers. We have revealed that the over funded and badly managed PEP is trying to wangle an excellence award,something which will stick in the throats of many in this Community.

The management team our dedicated staff group tell us are merely ’lackies’ given management label’s for their assistance in covering up all that has gone on within the project. It now appears that this so called management team have been very upbeat lately,staff believe it was because a conversation was overheard bragging about having the ‘award in the bag-it was a foregone conclusion .Quote’this would put paid to all the mudslingers’ and ‘just watch the opportunities that roll in from it’.

Service user’s of the Neighbourhood group attending art groups,literacy sessions or trips out one day a week and stuck in front of a television one day a month for staff to take the group into the office one by one to ask how they are so they can tick the right box and scribble something down on a support agreement is less than a shadow of the service that was being delivered previously.

Neighbourhood staff-there are only two-who should be keyworking Service users are out driving buses for PEP,One member of staff told Pilton Sucks. We are about 3 drivers down and that was before the manager made a full time driver redundant and the Transport Supervisor put in her resignation as she had,had enough-she is the second member of staff to resign recently,we’re struggling to run most of our services due to shortages of staff,volunteers and mismanagement.

Six Circle ran their decorating and gardening service for over ten years for free for the most vulnerable in the community,only in it’s last 2-3 years charging £20 to£25 pounds a job,PEP charges £30 pounds a day! The most vulnerable people in our community are being alienated the exact people the services are meant for and funded for.

Staff intimidated and tutored by the manager into stating what a wonderful service they are delivering and all the benefits it is producing for the Service User’s-many of the Service user’s not knowing any better.

Our friend the staff member tells us that, Elizabeth Maginnis does not care who she uses and abuses in an attempt to get her own way she’s lying through her teeth to keep her squalid little empire together built out of self interest when her other ambitions came to nothing. 

Our friend goes on.Care of the elderly so their votes would keep her in her position as Councillor-something many were already aware of- and not getting any younger rushing headfirst into the caring field in her usual bull in a china shop manner knocking and throwing together the facade of an excellent project in the hope of making the honours list before she retires.

This friends and readers is a sorry state of affairs abuse of position together with the old pals act that is rotten to the core have used and abused this Community for their own ends using willing lackies to front their greed.

The PEP campaign group have shown great courage in the face of threats and intimidation to set down exactly what is going on inside this organisation. The campaign group lets us all know that some community activists have been willingly used and in return have had their vanity stroked.

Pilton Sucks has already pointed out that in one recent edition of the NEN, PEP  commanded 4 pages one project 4 pages strange is it not. These activists could never have chaired a creche group had it not been for bowing at the altar of the empress.

Friends and readers. Here’s a question. Which Community Project in your opinion has several serious questions to answer about it’s dubious operation?Coupled with that friends and readers,which Community Project is now at the ham and trying to wangle an EXCELLENCE AWARD in the hope of sweeping any or all of it’s dirty washing under the carpet in an attempt to look whiter than white.

Well you knew all the time you clever lot,why it’s our old friends PEP run by the Paul Pot of Greater Pilton Councillor whiter than white Maginnis.

It would appear that a certain Shelia Brown who hails from a Council Department called Quality Development[Health and Social Care] based at the ivory tower Waverley Court may have been duped into believing that this project deserves such an award.

Let us give you a little taster to wet your curious appetites.

It was brought to Ms. Maginnis’s attention that Ms. Brown asked a member of the management group to leave a meeting while she spoke to volunteer’s and rightly so. Our friend the Councillor a title she frequently uses to bully herself a clear path to what she wants has now made sure any future meetings will include volunteers who are also members of the management committee who she has in her back pocket,to influence what is being said at meetings is positive and to ensure she gets to know what is being said.

This of course friends is just another example of how devious and corrupt the Councillor is and how farcical any limp investigations or reviews are, under these conditions.

Friends you may ask yourselves why these conditions have been brought about and why a manager feels it necessary to run a project through fear and intimidation? Initially it was believed it was egotistical,which no doubt was part of it,but now many know it is through fear a manager running a project she really has no in depth knowledge of and is struggling with the reality she does not know how to run.

Trial and error,avoid hiring professionals,fooling most of the people most of the time and intimidating,ignoring or using political favours for the rest. Shambolic. But behind the scenes of course. It appears some staff seriously believe PEP is ready to implode on itself.

No friends and readers it’s not an excellence award this project should get,but an open public enquiry into the over funding and managing of this project

Friends and readers. As the new Council beds in and Labour continue to infight,how do the voters fair in all this Topsy turvy game of politics. Well lets see shall we. The dreaded roadworks which plague the city have come Grantons way with Crewe Road North now a no go area,coupled with the roadworks on West Granton Road We are at the mercy of the dreaded perils in yellow jackets.

One sharp eyed reader told us that the signs telling everybody that work was to commence and their vehicles would be lifted should they park in the way of progress were put up after the digging started. Typical. A reader in Crewe Road West witnessed a car being lifted from the street  yesterday afternoon and the cones and signs were not put down until an hour later. Now that’s really having a laugh. When our reader approached the driver of the vehicle doing the lifting,she was met with a mind your own business attitude. This is certainly not on and we have replied to this reader asking her if she sees this jobsworth again to get the registration of the vehicle.

Would these morons speak to residents of Cramond or Ravelston like that,we think not. Are our new elected members monitoring the mess of this city and dealing with jobsworths who think they can do what they like. dosen’t seem like it. The residents of Greater Pilton have the right to be treated with courtesy when their lives are being disrupted. This is the second time ignorance has been shown to residents when asking what is happening.

It seems the policy is never mind the residents they will put up with anything. Not so Pilton Sucks will now take up monitoring this big dig and let one of these jobsworths try and be rude to any of our associates and we will certainly take action immediately.

This is systematic of an ongoing problem,treating people like rubbish and then expect them to pay for the privilege   

This is something the Community Council could possibly look into and try and make sure residents are informed and treated with respect. After all they are paying the wages of these jokers. Anna our associate tested this theory and took a walk along Gamkeepers park road and some of the other streets in Crammond. Not a road work or abandoned hole in sight,just green and pleasant valleys.

On the other hand Greater Pilton has to put up with all the crap of the day. Another reader told us that articulated lorries thunder down Crewe Road North towards our Waterfront Development at frightening speeds,why not use the West Granton access road. This is something the NEN should know about after all their office is in Crewe Road North. But have they,of course not wouldn’t want to upset their Councillor Buddie

The West Granton Access road is deserted most of the day yet this is the road these monster trucks should be using,have our elected members tried to remedy that,don’t think so. Let the plebs suffer is the unwritten policy,and if they complain make up some bullshit excuse. At least our good friend and former Councillor Bill Bailie Fitzpatrick had an answer for the plebs and it was consistent,nought to do with me.

This of course became our friends and regular sucks readers catch phrase,but that was some sort of responce,now we just get ignorant jobsworths being rude to residents, when they want to know what is happening in their Community.

Our elected members have a duty to look after the punters that elected them,Pilton Sucks understands that after a generation of Labour rule there are still pockets of resistance to political change and those indidviduals who have benifted from the old pals act may try and disrupt any kind of movement which takes away their authority.

Pilton Sucks is well aware that individuals benefited from Labour rule through Jobs for the boys mentality and you would have to be completely stupid not to know that certain Community projects received far more than their fair share of grant monies. 

So labour rule benefited the few,commonly known as the knitting circle or old pals act,of course everything will be seen to be above board,but we know it was rotten with old pals voting for old pals when it came to monies being distributed.And so cocky they became that they didn’t even bother to try and hide the fact. We know who they are everybody we have spoken to knowes which projects seem to have sky rocketed and grown out of all proportion.

In due course these over funded projects and there are just a few will have to account/or come to heel,and we may yet see who voted for what.

Treating the voters with disdain became Labours way and the rest suffered. The new lot have a chance to put that right and end the above board corruption that went on for so long.

They can make a start by telling their employees that being rude to residents who want to know what is happeneing in their Community is not on.

Friends and readers. George our associate informs Pilton Sucks  he has heard that an attempt will be made to sack another of the victims of the Muirhouse Social Work Cenre bully.

This unfortunately comes as no great surprise to us given the hiding and dodging that has come from senior management. Instead of dealing with the problem they attack the victims because it is the easier option. We already know that a number of complaints have been made about bullying behaviour yet consistently those charged with dealing with such problems have done nothing except practice cover up after cover up.

Of course it’s clear if they did find some backbone from somewhere to deal with this serial bully then they would implicate themselves,bringing down this house of cards. The easier option is to throw all the obstacles in the way of victims fighting for justice.

But we understand serious mistakes have been made which shows  deceit and cover up. Out of the 5 victims there are 4 left,we understand one of the victims has been sacked/or in the departments words taken early retirement. Even so we understand this victim is pressing ahead to make sure everything comes out into the open.

The closet relationship between those charged to deal with this kind of disgusting behaviour and the perpetrator is clearly visible and Pilton Sucks repeats it’s opinion that any kind of investigation into these types of serious allegations must be looked into by an outside agency which has no knowledge of the parties involved.

But it seems quite the opposite has happened. It appears from the information that has trickled our way that pals have investigated pals,more like fair weather friends as each would stab the other in the back if they thought any heat was coming their way.

George our associate has uncovered details  of serious mis-management,this after several employees of the department spoke to him off the record. Fear has been used as a weapon to prevent the truth coming out,and deliberate attempts to silence the victims through threats of dismissal. It is now clear that when allegations of serious bullying first emerged resulting we believe in one of the victims attemping suicide,the police should have been brought in immediatly,preventing the department from sweeping it all under the carpet.

Pilton Sucks along with a few well placed people ,one a former Criminal Justice manager know that serious bullying took place at this infamous Cenre in Muirhouse and over a considerable period,involving a number of victims. Even after stories of bullying reached the then office in Shrubhill no action was taken,when these stories gathered pace and some meat was put on the bones,the cover up began and still continues,culminating as we have said in an attempt to rubbish the victims and remove them from  post. 

This friends and readers is a travesty of mega proportions almost Watergate like in the way it has been handled. Pilton Sucks and associates are the deep throat to the departments Watergate and are more than willing to whistle blow when we can. Once again we repeat our message there can be no hiding place for bully’s in any workplace.  

Friends and readers. It seems our honourable member for Leith and North Edinburgh the very ambitious Mark Lazarowicz has voted with the Government for their Post Office closure plan.

Well Mark in case you did not know and that is unlikely some of these post offices to close will be in the constituency you are supposed to be representing. It’s all very well having your head in the clouds and bleating on about environmental issues but how does that help those that use and rely on their local post office.

You certainly don’t but many of your constituents do particularly the ones facing financial hardship,but if we where to believe you,very few punters in the constituency face hardship. Our noble loyal MP needs to get out more instead of trying to lick Browns ass and get some sort of cabinet post.

Feeding the frenzied appetites of the middle class voter you so love will not get you re-elected you need the punters that your vote will help punish. Local post offices are a lifeline for many people,certainly within the Forth Ward,as contrary to what our esteemed MP tells us we still have high unemployment ,crap housing  many households that survive on benefits if you can call it surviving,and many single parents. We need our MP’s and MSP’s support not a kick in the teeth.

So well done Mark and a first class job you voted with the Government and you will get a wee gold star for that. But it could be that the punters will give you the thumbs down at the next election. Will your middle-class town house friends help you then,or more likely will they walk away and look for a new best friend.   

Friends and readers. According to a recent opinion poll,the SNP are enjoying a huge lead over their nearest rivals the crumbling Labour Party. Why and how has this happened?Lack of ideas,lack of any kind of forceful leadership or just a determination to get it wrong.

A democracy needs a strong opposition Scotland doesnt have this and does not even remotely look like having one. Nicol Stephen the limp dick leader is to busy buying property at the taxpayers expense to be bothered with opposition and Andy Bell Goldie the Tory Grandee was posted missing a long while back.

Wee Wendy is on  a hiding to nothing,no ideas,no leadership,and going nowhere fast. Instead of criticizing the executive which the voters will ,and have got bored with,bring on some policy initiatives. Open up the party to new ideas and thinking not just from a handful of members but from all quarters,bring in fresh workable policies that will ignite the population and get rid of some of the deadwood,determined to hang on to the old way of doing things.

Bring in new selection procedures that involve real people not just a closed door shrinking membership,get the best talent the community’s have to offer,those with a mind of their own and not slaves to an outdated theory. 

Invigorate the party throw the doors open to anyone who wishes to have an input and base the structure around that. Community open forums across the country harvesting ideas and opinions,for how do you argue against one idea,with another idea and not just a party line. Make sure communities have a say in who their MSP or Council candidate is going to be,or you end up with the situation of the same person representing a constituency even when their time is obviously up.

The SNP embraced change they realised that politics had to change in order to get into power. Time will tell whether they can keep up the momentum. For Labour all they can do is moan and grump about what might have been and try to damage the Scottish Government by using the Westminster Government to thwart anything the executive try and do.

Whispers in political circles are saying that Labour in London might try and stop any defence contracts coming north of ther border,stop any attempt to get rid of the hated community charge even though they know it’s an unfair tax,and try and make the SNP executive take the blame. The voters would have to be really stupid to fall for that one.

Labour have to ring the changes,is Wendy the right person to do that or is she just a Brown puppet dancing to his tune and nothing else. Unless Labour embrace the people instead of sucking up to the middle classes who will desert them as soon as look at them then they are doomed to perpetual opposition,unless they get lucky and that’s not the way to run a country,on the hope of getting lucky.   

Friends and readers. As most or all of you are aware,our Community newspaper the NEN is under threat of closure. Pilton Sucks deplores this situation,and although the NEN was heavily dependent on it’s Labour Party connections,something we strongly opposed,and something we suspect is a factor in their demise,this is still our Community newspaper and not a party political football.

The NEN we believe has the potential to be a first class Community newspaper and we give it full support as this Community does. What Pilton Sucks and the vast majority of this Community will not tolerate is a Labour Party broadsheet by any other name. We in this case will not name names -you know who you are- but in one recent issue 4 pages were devoted to one Labour Councillor and the Community project she manages.

That’s simply unacceptable and no-one will support that kind of biased coverage. The NEN requires the support of the Community,it has that,it has the support of Pilton Sucks.undoubtably it will have the support of the other community newspapers under threat.

So the NEN has got the support,don’t blow it by doing something stupid like openly displaying your political opinions. You are there to serve all the Community not just the tiny Labour minority. Our sister site Edinburgh Sucks is also concerned by this threat as it is a dedicated community voice as well.

Helen has been round and about the community drumming up support for the NEN and she tells us that nobody wants to see the NEN go. We think a community petition should be started immediately and let those that would shut us down see that this community is singing with one voice.

The NEN does not just belong to any individual it is the property of the Community and we will not let it go with out one hell of a fight.

Friends and readers. Royston/Wardieburn Community Council held their open forum on Wedensday 19th march in the Royston/Wardieburn Community Centre.

We are told that it went well and those that attended enjoyed the event. Local issues were on the agenda and it seems a number of concerns where raised. This is a good start and begins to build momentum for this Community Council as they bed in and get to grips with issues as they arise.

Pilton Sucks applauds this inititive which can only help bring the Community Council closer to the area and people they hope to serve. One minor concern which is not of this Community Councils making,was the lack of attendance from any of the other local Community Council members.

There may well be good reasons why no-one from any other Council attended,but we believe that unity is one of the keys to success. Success breeds success and we must all support each other as we strive to improve this Community,and make it a better place to live and work in.
