Friends and readers. Once again we see workplace bullying hitting the headlines. Scottish Ambulance chief Kevin Doran and Colleague Grace Kennedy are being investigated amid allegations of bullying and harassment. Both have gone on voluntary leave of absence.

An independent investigating team will be set up in the next few days.

Once again we see workplace bullying getting press coverage as society grows more intolerant of this workplace disease. Pilton Sucks claims no credit for highlighting this issue nor does it apologize for bring to the attention of the public this dreadful practice. George our associate who broke the story of the horrific treatment dished out to several members of staff at the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre,which resulted we are told in one member of staff attempting suicide.

Several sources including a senior manager of the Health and Social Care Department have confirmed this story to be true and have also confirmed no action was taken to deal with the problem. Several questions surrounding this scandal remained unanswered. Was there ever an outside independent investigation into these serious allegations? What if any was the outcome?

We are further disturbed to have learned that a former employee wrote a letter to this caring sharing Department outlining the treatment that was dished out to him by the very same person who this department has constantly covered for and  who should have been at the  least suspended pending investigations. This letter mysteriously vanished and as this former employee is no longer living in this country this department must think they are off the hook.

Pilton Sucks believes workplace bullying to be a crime and should be treated as such,with the perpetrators at the very least removed from their position never again allowed to have authority over any individual or group of staff.More so we feel these jobsworth thugs should be dismissed and prosecuted by the authority’s with a custodial sentence as an option. If staff members are attempting suicide or suffering such pain and torment that leads to such a mental state where suicide becomes the only option,then we have as a society sunk to the depths of the worst side of human nature and drastic action needs to be taken to right the wrong that is workplace bullying. 

The press and media are getting to grips with this social disease and realising that bullying in the workplace is real and alive and needs to be dealt with. Cover ups and lies won’t do and once the press are involved all bets are off. What happened in Muirhouse and the subsequent cover up only enhances the need for proper checks and balances,and not pals investigating pals.

Workplace bullies need to understand that their behaviour is unacceptable and will be punished,not as in Muirhouse farce.where the cover up goes on and the thug is given a green light to carry on.                 

Friends and readers. While our troops serve in Iraq and Afghanistan putting their lives on the line in the name of democracy,the rest of us can only watch as events unfold elsewhere.

No sign of peace in the long running dispute between Israel and the palestinians. Mass killing and starvation in the Sudan and Mugabe who has wiped out most of the opposition and anyone else who got in his way in Zimbabwe.

The invasion by any other name by the Chinese into Tibet and of course Americas paranoia with anyone who doesnt agree with them.

You would have to be a little cynical to think that the invasion of Iraq was mainly to do with oil since the much trumpeted weapons of mass destruction where no-where to be found.

Or why should we be in Afghanistan? Could it be something to do with an oil pipe line by any chance. In today’s world money is much more valuable than human life otherwise we would surely have taken action over the mass genocide in the Sudan,instead of mouthing disgust at these terrible events.

Did we try and stop Mugabe killing thousands of his people? why of course not,instead we moaned about the lack of democracy.

We dare not complain to the Chinese about their jolly intoTibet  they are bigger than us and we want them as trading buddies.

The Saudies who have their hand on the oil tap could not spell human rights but we ignore that little detail and sell them massive amounts of arms.

Of course it’s all just politics how stupid we are not to realise that. Peoples lives don’t matter in the greater scheme of things just the filthy lucre and how much can be accumulated.

We applaud the fact that we publish a rich list and are supposed to tug our forelocks and bow before the greatness of these individuals.

When they utter their words of wisdom we stand back in awe not because of the size of their intellect but the size of their bank balance.

The world that we all inhabit is controlled by a few movers and shakers that shape  events,and couldn’t care less about the value of human life unless it’s their own.

Armies are used like pawns in a chess game to control land mass and the minerals or gateways they possess. It is sold to us on the grounds of democracy when in reality it’s about greed and ownership.

Our leaders applaud pop concerts which publisise poverty and destitution,and like to be photographed with the great and the good,but do little else.

But mention oil and their eyes light up and they play the democracy card uttering platitudes from high pointing the finger at countries that would kill us all as we sleep in our beds. Wiping up fervour as Thatcher did over the Falklands is classic duplicity.

The Falkland islands and who ever had control over them had the gate way to the untapped mineral resources of the Antarctic. But of course that is just cynical and shows a lack of understanding of the rights of the Falkland Islanders.

So what about the rights of the peoples of the Sudan or Zimbabwe or Palestine or anywhere else that doesnt directly service our interests. 

Friends and readers. We have just been informed that the Royston Wardieburn Community Council will hold it’s AGM on the 19th June at 7pm in the Royston Wardieburn Community Centre.

This is an opportunity for members of the Community to get involved if they so wish with their local Community Council.

So if you have some spare time on the 19th you should take the time to go along and find out how the Community Council operates. Indeed you may even wish to become a Community Councillor and we are sure you would be welcomed.

If any other of the local Community Councils are thinking about their AGM let us know in the comments box provided and we will be delighted to publicise it.

Friends and readers. The dream vision call it what you like may well be over. Labours by election loss on Thursday was a little more than mid term blues.

The grim reaper is coming in the guises of Cameron and his fellow twit Osbourn promising nothing but secretly planning to hammer the weakest and poorest in our society.

Just take a look at Tory history and it will remind you of what will happen should boy David ever get the keys to number 10.

Prime Minister Brown is lost and in need of a direction before his party chucks him out on his ear and replaces him with a mirror image of Cameron,privelidged and privately educated. 

Labours problem one amongst many is the staleness of it’s policies and lack of direction. Brown himself seems a decent enough bloke if not lost in the bigger pool of prime ministership.

He is certainly not the same man who used to parlay with his pals in the Abbotsford pub in Rose street making great plans for a democratic socialist future.

The press or the majority of that mob clearly detest him and are doing their level best to promote the slick and slimy Cameron as the new great white hope who will arrive on his white charger and save us all from high utility bills, rocketing fuel prices sky high food costs, and of course make homes cheaper to buy or rent.

Now if you are stupid enough to believe that then you deserve the dreaded gruesome two some of  Cameron and Osbourn the new Fagin and Bill Sykes of British Politics.

The Tory  faithful can hardly contain their glee and some of them almost issued a policy statement but soon realised the error of their ways.

Labour do need freshened up and that may be on the way. Time is short for action and it must be swift and decisive. Browns cabinet needs a kick in the portfolios with one or two of the new wave ministers Balls and Milliband to name just two who have been completely ineffectual and are just waiting for Brown to fall,so they can borrow Cameron’s white charger and save the day.

Labour can still claw their way back but it will be a long haul but immediate action is needed on prices which are now spiriling out of control.

Yes world events are a big factor that is for certain but it cannot be used as an excuse at the drop of a hat simply because there appears to be no other answer.

Brown has the top job he so coveted he now needs to prove he is worthy of the job. The electorate do not forgive easily,and with prices clearly  out of control,they just may be desperate enough to trust the Tories,which undoubtably would turn out to be the biggest mistake they could make.

For those that may be inclined to turn to boy David and his motely crew,take some time to read recent history,and see what the Tories will do for you.   

Friends and readers. If you did not know already American giant Walmart or in it’s guise of ASDA where most council house purchasers bought their first new front door,are opening a super new store in Newhaven.

Not just any old super store but a super super store. Yes you may scratch your heads in confusion as to what constitutes a super super store, but punter friendly ASDA will bash on regardless building another concrete monstrosity to further enhance a growing concrete world.

The bait, well it’s a well trodden road the promise of 400 jobs probably low paid working round the clock to satisfy the endless appetite of the consumer and of course the shareholders.

This new super super store will of course fit in nicely with the overall development plan for this area[if there is one of course] and for those that bought the over priced flats around there they will have the pleasure of 24/7 comings and goings of massive delivery lorries churning out all the shit they can from their exhausts delivering processed crap and cheap electrical goods with strange names.

Progress indeed with yet another store joining the many we already have and endless choice of non essential rubbish from cheap laboured third world countries.

Of course let us not forget just along the road in West Granton another Morrison’s store is due for completion in Autumn. This store is merely a super store and has one less super than ASDA.

More articulated poison spewing vehicles for us to breath in but we can take solace in the knowledge that we will have choice beyond our wildest dreams if we can afford it.

Friends and readers. It seems our hunt for the missing letter from a former employee of the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre has thrown up some interesting comments.

It would appear that before he left he spoke to one of the Social Workers who are assisting us. George our associate spoke with her on Thursday and she told him that only days before he left that he felt completely undermined and uneasy with what had been going on.

In his own words he said he had been treated like dirt and was more or less just a go for. In his letter he named both of the people who had treated him badly,outlining their total disregard for his dignity.

Our friend assured him they were already well known for bullying and that he should formalise his complaint. We do not know if he did,but we know now the letter mysteriously vanished. Our friend was told that he had kept a copy of this letter,but did not say were it was. Once again Pilton Sucks asks anybody who has any knowledge of this copied letter get in touch with George through the usual channels and he will make sure it gets into the right hands.

Once again we remind employees ever where, do not put up with bullying behaviour,the only way to stop these mindless morons is report all incidences of unacceptable behaviour and make sure action is taken to deal with the problem.

Do not be put off by threats or intimidation as happened at this centre in Muirhouse,where several members of staff were subjected to what can only be called torture.

Bully’s can only operate on single targets,they are cowards and hide behind who ever they can. Do not be alone when confronting these thugs take a witness,the bully will shy away from confrontation cowering behind rules regulations and those manufactured proceedures.The bully can only operate in his own environment where he feels in control,outside that closeted environment the bully will revert to type,all smiles and kiss ass,until back in the tiny world where power and control is in the bullys hands.

As we all know if nothing is done to stop these despot thugs then it will be business as usual,with the bully confident in the knowledge the green light has been given to carry on.

We all have a duty to make sure the workplace is a safe place to be and if those who are supposed to be in charge neglect their responsibilities of a duty of care to their staff,then the law must be brought in to sort out the mess.

How many employees need to suffer or in some cases take their own lives or  attempt to before action is taken to rid the workplace of bullys. It may be an expensive lesson to learn for those that don’t as the courts are now waking up to the fact of the real menace of workplace bullys and the damage they do.

Friends and readers. With heavy hearts Pilton Sucks is sad to announce the death of Community activist Jenni Marrow. At this sad time we wish to say nothing more,other than this Community will be a sadder place without her.

We do not have any funeral arrangements as yet,but when we do we will let you all know. 

Friends and readers. Once again the secure units of Howdenhall and St katherine’s have come to our attention. 

It would seem according to our in house source,that the unit manager of Guthrie’s and ass licker of former principle Frank the chancer Phelen a certain Peter Mcluskey,has been involved in a disciplinary action due we are told to being and we are being polite here,over familiar with female members of staff.

Of course the outcome was kept a closely guarded secret much to the anger of the female staff at these units. It seems these units lurch from one crisis to another yet nobody in authority bats an eyelid.

Of course with Mr. Mcluskey being a personal ass licker of Frank the chancer Phelen it’s no wonder that no action was taken against this predator.

Frankie and Pete are good drinking buddies which in itself is strange since Frankie boy abstains from the demon drink and Pete can’t get enough of alcohol and has been known to come to his employment worse the wear for his over indulgence.

It would seem that climbing the greasy pole of promotion Pete jumped into bed with Frankie boy and assured himself of another rung on the ladder of soul selling and ass licking. Since it appears that the evidence against friend Pete was certainly on the strong side why does he continue to have influence over female members of staff,that cannot be right and warrants serious investigation, not the old pals cover it all up crap.

As with workplace bullying this sort of predatory behaviour must be punished and certainly not condoned and the culprit promoted. We feel that the press should knock loudly on these secure unit doors,the ones that work anyway,and ask the right questions and not be fobbed off with the usual City Council bullshit.      

Friends and readers. George our associate has received confirmation from a well placed source, that there was indeed a letter sent by a former employee of the Muirhouse Social Work Centre to senior managers outlining the treatment he received while employed there.

We understand the contents of this letter where damming and outlined in detail unacceptable behaviour dished out to him.Our source told George that the letter had disappeared very soon after it was hand delivered. 

We wonder why? Could it be it that senior management already knew,workplace bullying was taking place at this centre in Muirhouse,and could not face up to their responsibilities to put a stop to it.

This letter which mysteriously vanished came from an employee who was only there for a short while, yet experienced behaviour he could not put up with.

Once again a blind eye was turned to workplace bullying,which has encouraged people to come forward to tell their story.This travesty has taken twists and turns but no action to date has been taken to deal with the situation.

One more victim has been ignored adding to the growing list. Pilton Sucks finds this whole sordid affair disgusting and an affront to human dignity. Workplace bullying is a crime and the perpetrators are criminals and should be treated as such.

Employees have a right to work in a safe environment free from mindless thugs who would make life miserable for others. Pilton Sucks demands action and will continue to expose this violent thugary,and where ever we find it we will expose it.
