Friends and readers,a little birdie tells us that a certain community project manager has cut the pension entitlement to staff while secretly trying to enlarge her own.

Why who could this be we hear you ask,the little birdie tells us that all will be made public soon, where we asked?could it be in the Labour dominated NEN although they say they are not. No don’t think so they are to busy denying in a full page spread written by an employee that no Labour Party cabals exist something which is blatantly untrue,so we won’t hear anything from our trusty Community newspaper.

Our little birdie who works for the very same project talks of tyranny and bullying of staff,surely not, we are surprised,not really only kidding.

Nothing seems to come as a surprise or shock anymore down here in fun time Forth. That’s the sadness of it all. The old guard are still trying to use anybody they can to hold on to their power base,which is slipping away day by day and no denials of party political mischief will alter that fact.

Oh well lets see what this months NEN has in store for us,lets hope against hope that they play fair,that would be a first and print letters which may take a different point of view that they do.

We know in bygone days that some letters did not see the light of day because of differing opinions to our former rulers,naughty naughty,so by telling the punters there is no Labour Party cabals at work and then only print what suits smell a little don’t you think.

We are even informed that a local Councillor was refused a piece in the NEN because it was 5 minutes late. Bet it wasn’t a Labour Councillor. 

There is a small matter of the facts,number one of which you would struggle to fill a telephone kiosk with what’s left of the local cabal membership. Fact two their day is over and no longer can they dominate a Community such as ours and fill projects with their own people whether as staff or on nodding dog management committees.

There is a new broom slowly sweeping it’s way through this Community cleaning up dodgy SIP funding with pals voting for pals and sucking up all the grant money leaving others to fight over the scrapes.

 maybe the NEN should investigate that scandal or is it to close to home.

Friends and Readers. You must all be as frustrated as we are by the totally incompetent Chancellor Alistair hot air Darling.

Never in the history of this nation has there been a more useless and we have had some beauties, Chancellor. Britain sinks while Darling drinks wine,and tells the woolly hatted Guardian readers we have never had it so bad and it’s gonna get worse.

We already know that so what is this brain of Britain going to do about it. Nothing of course but enjoy the trappings of office. Without an idea in his head and no balls to do anything positive even if he had  something going on upstairs,he sits on the sidelines and blames world circumstances.

Yes we know that, but what measures could he take to lessen the blows being felt by the punters. Allow us at Pilton Sucks to offer his majestic majesty some advice,GET LOST, but failing that an immediate removal of VAT from fuel bills,a reduction in corporation tax to encourage external investment, a ceiling on profits by the greedy utility companies after which they would have to put the excess back into the pockets of the nation.

The complete removal of stamp duty,a tax which serves only to fleece the house buyer out of yet more of their hard earned.

A house building programme directed specifically at the first time buyer or renter,and something at last which has happened here in Scotland the end of the right to buy scheme introduced by Thatcher as a grand plan to smash the working class movement and force them into taking crappie  jobs or low wage increases,because they had to pay the dreaded mortgage.

Labour are disintegrating before our eyes and closet Tories like Darling only hasten their decline. Clowns like Darling are helping the Tories back into Government,you could almost believe he has duel party membership.

Brown must act now and replace Darling and send him hurtling to the back benches and then the electorate can toss him out at the next election.

This country needs action now not words in the armchair socialists favourite paper the dreadfully dull Guardian. An economic plan of action needs to be put in place immediately to haul us back from the brink.

Already unemployment is on the rise and this Government could not care less,we know that many will face fuel poverty and hardship this winter and this Government could not care less,people are going to lose their homes in droves and this Government could not care less.

What a mess and it’s clear worse is to come and still no action. It’s no good leaving it to the Party Conference to preach to the faithful even they will have a hard time swallowing bullshit and trying to sell it on the doorstep to the disgusted punter.

If you listen very closely you just might hear TINA calling to you remember her,she got kicked into oblivion so will Brown and Darling if they don’t remove their index fingers from their asses and start taking action.

I WANT TO MAKE BEING A LABOUR PARTY MEMBER COUNT. YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT YOU ARE A MEMBER OF A PARTY THAT STANDS FOR SOMETHING-A PARTY THAT WILL FIGHT FOR BETTER AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING,MORE NEW SCHOOLS,DIGNITY IN RETIREMENT,BETTER RAIL AND BUS SERVICES,AND AN NHS THAT DELIVERS WHAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY CREATED TO DO.

That’s a good one don’t you think we think it’s a belter and where did we dig that little gem up,well believe it or not that came from Cathy inspiration,determination ,action Jamieson.

Yes it’s true it really did. If you could turn those words of wisdom into horse manure you would have prize winning roses,or fresh veg instead of the processed crap the supermarkets sell.  

Friends and readers. We are told by a little birdie that Barrats that well known builder of quality homes bought land down on the Waterfront for £2million an Acre and now can’t even get half that price as they try to unload it.

My how times have changed,once greed was the order of the day now they are trying to sell it off at a knock down price. Barrats who re -invented slum housing on a massive scale have had their fingers burnt at the alter of greed,but we have all been saved in the short term from the crap that they build.

We are heading once again into a man made recession,brought about by bankers yes we spelt it correctly trying to grab as much dosh as they could knowing that if it all went belly up then the daft punters would pay the price.

They got that one right,as their pal the Chancellor Alistair waste of space Darling gave them a few quid of taxpayers money to tide them over,and if they need more just ask, we can always starve the NHS of funds or make some people homeless,throw a few punters on the dole,tax the life out of whats left and then ask the same mugs for their vote so we can stick it up you again.

The peoples party panders to the wants of the banks while ignoring the Joe’s that elected them. Why not cut public spending while you are at it,oh and attack those on benifits too that should bring you a few blue rinse brigade votes.

Don’t forget to make it easier to cut off fuel supplies to peoples homes who cannot afford these obscene bills,and should a few people die of the cold it doesn’t matter we can always bull shit our way out of it with some daft excuse or other.

Make eating much more expensive too forcing people to eat more cheaper rubbish that effects their health,oh and make that a double whammy by forcing them to turn off the heating in the middle of winter.

Then encourage them to buy lottery tickets or stupid scratch cards conning them out of little they have left. Maybe instead of funding opera house renovations or handing out money to those who already have enough,the great and the good of the Lottery commission might help those most in need which our Government should be doing instead of wasting millions or billions on Two weeks of Olympics and satisfying Coca Cola or Adidas.

When our people are suffering and those in need are ignored then we know this ragged bunch of chancers in Westminster who don’t give a shit need to feel the wrath of the voter and be kicked into touch.

Brown and Darling the worst double act since the dreadfully  unfunny Little and Large,could well be replaced By Fagin and Dodger,the whiter than white Cameron and Osbourn,who will make Darling and Brown look like amatures compared to the damage they will inflict on the weakest.

So the plebs are trapped between poverty gradually under Labours deadly duo or immediate poverty with the haters of the poor Cameron and Ossie.

Hobsons choice,oh fuck it but a lottery ticket and burn it to keep warm.

Friends and readers. Would someone like to tell us why we have been infected by the digging disease that has infected most of this city.

Once again for the umpteenth time Lower Granton Road is being dug up,does anyone know why,because if you ask the punters that are making all the mess they don’t know.

Same in Boswall Parkway outside the medical centre. Nobody working there seems to know what day it is never mind what they are supposed to be doing.

Of course there is a yellow sign telling us that the road will be closed for four weeks commencing the 28th July that means they have 5 days left to finish what ever they are doing.

What’s the big secret are they burying treasure or evidence of SIP funding malpractice. Who knows,but we have a thought for today. The contractors could use Mathisons Pies to fill the holes in the road they are solid enough and the grease would act as a form of cement.

Just ask our resident community job applicant Dave fatboy Hewitt he swears by them.    

Friends and readers. It may be worth taking on board that if the one or two lavishly funded local projects had not been so greedy projects like the NEN may have not been struggling for funding.

The very same NEN that has been a Labour party broadsheet for so long should have exposed the greed of their buddies and reported that they were sucking up all the SIP funding  and leaving the cupboard bare.

Pilton Sucks supports the NEN as a community asset what this paper needs to do is expose the greed of others and their attempts to empire build while leaving other projects exposed and in danger of closure. 

Just a thought. 

Friends and readers. We know that you have all been gripped by the Scottish Labour Leadership farce,and have ignored the fact that all our fuel bills will be increased again,but none of the noble candidates bother to say what they intend to do about it.

Andy right or is it left hand Kerr tells us he has the strength and character to lead the Party and the nation,but as the left hand does not know were the right hand is we find that hard to believe.

Ian dark knight Gray our very own nightmare on Holyrood Road got a two page spread in Fridays Evening News telling us how he came through the ranks the hard way to become a Party man and favoured son. What’s Ian going to do to revive party fortunes,good Question but anyone who has trouble sleeping can just listen to the Dark Knight talking and your insomnia will be cured.

And then came Cathy. Inspiration,determination and action is Cathy’s catch phrase with the odd sprinkling of passion.Cathy has a flair for the obvious telling her adoring public that Labour has lost contact with the public,we would like to let Cathy into a little but well known secret you lost contact a long time ago

These are the three contenders trying for the members hearts and minds and votes of course. Not much there then but that’s your lot best of luck.

Meanwhile as Britain sinks to zero growth and recession beckons where is our beloved leader,why in China of course,fiddling and burning comes to mind. Gogsie is pressing the flesh of our successful athletes while ignoring the plight of the people he is sure will return him at the next election.

The guy must be on the happy pills,unemployment is on the rise as is inflation the housing market is at a standstill companies across every sector of the economy are shedding labour,and his chancellor is posted missing,what a disaster and no hope in sight. He even wants the by election in Fife delayed so he can announce an action plan in the Autumn. Why not announce it now and put us all out of our misery.

Brown and his mates have lost their way that’s if they ever had one in the first place. So while Britain sinks Brown suns himself in China and tries to pinch team GB’s glory,our pretender to the throne Lord Snooty himself ,Dave wonder boy Cameron is sunning himself on a £21,000 a week yacht,slumming it indeed.

He was advised to book two weeks in sunny Benidorm and show he has the common touch,but declined telling his advisers that he would not be able to get up in the morning and beat the Germans to the sunbeds,some things never change.   

As our anti workplace bullying campaign continues at pace,rumours have reached us of strange happenings at the heart of the bullying scandal and the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre. We now have confirmation that one half of this bullying partnership has now left the scene of his crimes and moved to use his momentous expertise in Dalkeith.

But what of the other half of this slimy partnership which caused so much trouble and hurt. We are all now aware of the cover up that went on to protect this slime ball and the lengths taken to do so,simple reason being that to have done something about him and his pal would have brought down this shaky house of cards and implicated one or two in more senior positions.

Another strong rumour is that an inside investigator dealing with a parallel issue denied that there was any kind of bullying going on at all,only to change his mind shortly after and say completly the opposite,so why no action to deal with the problem. Our sources tell us that this mess is far from over and those that hid away what went on may yet have to account for their behaviour.

So it’s all change a senior person  appointed to carry out an investigation into the same Social Work Centre denies any bullying then has a road to Damascus moment and then says that there was bullying and had known about it for some time. So step forward and go public with your new found honesty,declare that it was common knowledge that bullying was going on and known about at this infamous centre,and tell us all what action was taken,action that should have been taken when you first knew not when honesty got the better of you.

Pilton Sucks has probed and prodded and found out that a lid was put on the happenings at Muirhouse to save embarrassing revelations coming out which might spoil the retirement party’s of one or two hoping to jump ship before it all comes out. Pilton Sucks and mainly our associate George who has kept at this story thinks the time is now right that all those involved should be named and shamed and in the public arena. That may well come sooner than they think  

Friends and readers. A community divided is the headline in this months NEN not the impression we get, more like the old guard trying to cling on to their dripping roast.

It is clear that their are differing opinions on how to proceed with the new funding arrangements,and it is also clear that depends on who you talk to.

We know from the NEN report that Royston/Wardieburn Community Council are refusing to get dragged into a political dog fight and be used as cannon fodder by those who have a more political than community agenda.

Pilton Sucks as you know is nothing if not fair minded and encourages people to express their opinion whatever it is,but we detect underhand tactics at play here with an agenda driven by person or persons unknown,but it would not take a genius to work it out.

The debate as we see it is clear. We have new funding arrangements via the Fairer Scotland Fund which is being introduced over a year. A shade quick we do agree and there lies the basis for negotiation.

It did not matter who won the election funding arrangements would have changed as economic circumstances have changed,and unfortunately no-one is immune as we can see all to clearly.

The notion that we can fully fund projects on their historic levels is a non starter and a little bit of economic realism is required.

There are as we know a number within our community who are conveniently choosing to ignore basic arithmetic and using party politics to press home their message.

That of course is their democratic right,where it deviates is trying to drag everyone else kicking and screaming regardless of their opinions to the barricades and repel any change which would see their political base diminish and return accountability to the Community where it should have been all along.

Hand picked Management Committees,a whisper here and there those who have built careers on the back of public funding,will shout the loudest and complain about the potential loss of service,an old dodge using fear as a weapon to win over any doubters.

This new arrangement may have the by product of projects seeking funding elsewhere and having to justify it in the real world not the cushioned world of public funding.

Times change and we with constructive debate must be flexible enough to adopt change and place ourselves in the market with the services we offer.

This Community has a number of projects that as we have already said enjoyed lavish funding and wish it to continue regardless of outside forces.

In hindsight was this lavish funding necessary? or could it have been shared more evenly,we are all guilty of allowing this short sighted policy to have taken place instead of demanding that a ceiling be put on what projects can get and how big they were allowed to become.

So we now are in the position of facing tighter funding arrangements and petty squabbling won’t solve this puzzle. Pilton Sucks has watched as some projects have grown far to much and are now punching well above their weight which of course in return demands more funding to keep them afloat.

Short sighted bad management and a desire to consume all around them is one perception another perhaps is a lack of being strong enough to say no enough is enough.

History will very soon pass it’s own judgement on who got what,how and why. Pilton sucks says yes protest ,debate ,argue your corner but don’t  take people for mugs and drag them along with threats of Armageddon if we don’t have the status quo.
