Friends and readers. We are witnessing capitalism in crisis. The greed that has consumed the developed world has now come back to bite them on the ass.

But wait is it those greedy bastards that will suffer the fallout of this mess?Why of course not it is you and i that will suffer and have to pick up the tab for others greed.

Job losses, home repossessions,misery for many while those that caused this problem will be well insulated against this economic chill. These greedy bastards paid themselves massive amounts of money while presiding over terminal decline.

Why should the taxpayer bail them out and then pay for it again in the inevitable tax rises that will surely follow. Communities up and down this nation will suffer and few will escape.

We are heading back to the days of high unemployment and mass poverty and that’s before we have to switch on the heating to combat winter.

Our people friendly Government tells us it is not of their doing,but did they not turn a blind eye to the greed that was rampant in the last decade. while they are happy to bail out banks and building societies,they choke on the idea of helping those most at risk with their heating bills.

They don’t think twice about throwing billions at these failing institutions but don’t give a dam if people die of the cold this winter.

That’s our Government let the people suffer and them make them pay for the pleasure and if a few should die because of the cold or they cannot afford to eat properly it doesn’t really matter,because at least capitalism will be saved and the greedy bastards that grabbed what they could can rest easy that they will be looked after.  

Friends and readers. Our source at the leaky Waverley Court who told us of the mis-management at the secure units of Howdenhall where Frank the chancer Phelen presided over staff threats,and cover ups,has been it touch to tell us of rumblings of discontent at Greendykes YPU.

It would appear that our friendly manager at this unit is obsessed with  political correctness and has decided that male staff cannot do a sleep over if there is a female resident in the unit.

On the face of it that may seem okay but what about the male residents are they not to have a male worker either. So some of the staff complained to Unison who informed the manger that concerns over her political correctness had been passed to them.

So instead of Unison dealing with this managers bullshit they or someone within Unison informed her that the staff were unhappy at her silly stance.

So now the manager wants to know who the whistle blowers are so she can deal with them. Pilton Sucks is blowing the whistle on this horse shit and reminds our managerial friend at this unit in Greendykes that she should be supporting her staff not trying to carve brownie points for herself.

We urge the staff at the Greendykes unit to take out a grievance against this PC idiot and not be intimidated by any kind of covert threat.

We do have a question which puzzles us somewhat. Why does this City council seem to have so many bullies working for them. Is it the case that these jobsworths couldn’t hack it in the real world so they hide in the tangled web of the city,because if they tried that bullying crap out in the real world they would probably get chinned as the thug in Muirhouse did some time ago.

The only difference being that the jobsworth thug who now hides in Muirhouse got away with bullying while the employee who chinned him got the sack.

Thank you to the Trinity reader who told us that this was the first time she had read Pilton Sucks,and thought that our sporting odds was a good way of getting people interested in this By-election.

Friends and readers. Contact has been made with our associate George who has been unraveling the bullying scandal at the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre.

An employee who wishes to remain anonymous to protect her own safety got in touch through a third person to tell us what she knows.

This employee a Criminal Justice Social Worker of some years experience told George that Management within the Muirhouse Centre past and present and within a timescale of at least 5 years knew that bullying of staff was taking place.

Our informant herself was at this centre for a time and told George of a culture of bullying within the Community Service team which was clear for all to see.

She told George that the practice team manager was also intimidated and did not stay long,and it was clear to anybody that looked close enough that all was not well,and the atmosphere at times was poisonous.

When she left to work elsewhere she told colleagues of what she had experienced,but they were not surprised as rumours had already been circulated about what was going on at this centre in Muirhouse.

Once again we see yet another person come forward to relate what she knows,and it confirms what others have said that workplace bullying was openly practiced at this centre right under the noses of management themselves to intimidated to do anything about it. 

How many have got to come forward and tell their stories before the penny drops and a full outside independent investigation is carried out into the working practices at this centre and the two protagonists suspended while a full and frank investigation is carried out.

We know that bullying in this centre goes back some time and it was known about in other districts within the city,the two culprits are well known to staff so it should not be a problem to find and suspend them during an investigation.

Pilton Sucks deplores workplace bullying and is actively campaigning for a law making it a criminal offence,to in any way harass,intimidate or in any way threaten any member of staff.

Once again Pilton Sucks is demanding an outside independent investigation into this centre in Muirhouse where we know without doubt that workplace bullying has been taking place unchecked.

Several people who have contacted us have told us that if asked they will come forward and tell what they know. These individuals have never been contacted by the Health and Social Care Department at any time to give their evidence yet Pilton Sucks sent a private and confidential letter a senior manager giving the names of those that would like to speak out,but as yet as far as we know,no contact has been made.

Pilton Sucks is very clear were they stand on this. Our community has it’s fair share of social problems,we don’t need to add workplace bullying to them. Lets have a full investigation into what happened at this centre.Pilton Sucks is more than happy through our associate George to assist in any way.

Friends and readers. A couple of local Labour party members have contacted us saying they are very angry at the way former Councillor Billy Fitzpatrick was rejected as the Labour candidate at the forth coming by-election.

As we at Pilton Sucks are politically neutral we do not have an opinion nor do we know what went on at the selection meeting or how it was conducted. But the two members that contacted us told Pilton Sucks that a number of party supporters are seething at what they perceive to be a stitch up which saw a Drylaw based candidate selected to fight in the Forth ward instead of a popular local person.

They told us that Two candidates from Drylaw were up for selection and several party members felt that at least one of the candidates was used as a stalking horse to prevent local man Fitzpatrick from winning.

That may or may not be accurate but the facts of the matter are that former councillor Fitzpatrick was Labours best hope of holding a seat in the Forth ward and they have shot themselves in the foot.

So what now. The Lib-Dems have just announced that the interestingly named Sanne Dijstra-Downie will be their candidate at the by election. We wonder how they will manage to fit her name on a poster. Sanne professes to be local and as a research manager at Edinburgh University Say’s she understands the problems local people face,wonder were she researched that?Pilton Sucks perhaps.

We know that  Labours choice will be multi candidate and NET employee Cammy Day. Cammy as you know is already selected to fight Edinburgh West in the General election were Labour will be thumped out of sight,so Cammy could well be a two time loser.

Strong rumour has it that the SNP candidate will be local activist George Gordon. George has a high profile in the community and is known to be popular amongst his activist colleagues. George would be a popular choice amongst many in the community and if the rumour is true and he is selected the SNP will have a strong candidate and the one to beat.

No show from the Tories as yet but nobody really believes a Conservative candidate could win,but you never know.

If labour as expected lose the by election mostly through their own stupidity then the Forth ward will be a Labour free zone which would spell an end to the old guard for so long dominant in their own cabal,something that was recently denied in the NEN by reporter Dave Pickering himself a Labour candidate at the recent selection meeting,something about pot and kettle comes to mind.

So that’s the latest news on the by-election front with November6th as the likely date for the polls to open. Remember as in the previous election you will be able to vote for your first and second preference,and as it is unlikely any candidate will receive enough first preference votes to win the second preference vote will be all important.

As a spot of fun Pilton Sucks will open a book and lay odds on the candidates,which of course may change as the weeks go by until November 6th.

As our old friend and protector of the truth Don-six circle-Millar waves  goodbye to his back stabbing colleagues in Waverley Court to be replaced by cardboard cutout and ass licker supreme Harry the geek Robertson,Mr. Millar is left to ponder on his biggest failure,protecting the bully who has caused so much damage in that infamous centre in Muirhouse,and not nailing him when he had the chance.

We believe from all the reports we have received that a long time back Don Millar knew what was going on in Muirhouse and was frustrated at not being able to do the right thing and sack that asshole as he was referred to by senior management at the then shrubhill.

To many reports of ill treatment of staff was coming out of that centre and from different sources. Reports of interference in other districts was reported as well,with one Community Service Officer telling colleagues that ‘he tries to bully me as well’

Still nothing is done and our old friend Michelle Miller head honcho at the leaky Waverley Court who turns a blind eye to staff abuse calling it a cultural thing,said recently,that she took bullying seriously,well we know for certain that she had enough evidence from at least one victim but did absolutely nothing,that’s how seriously she takes bullying. And if anybody wants clarification on just how dishonest this woman is just ask Councillor Elaine Morris member for the Forth Ward who asked Ms. Miller to investigate a local project and got a lot of hogwash as a reply.

This Social Work Centre in Muirhouse is a bastion of institutional bullying and has been for a long time with a number of victims still waiting for justice to be done.

We are all to aware that the bullys sidekick has disappeared to Dalkeith where he can hide but this jobsworth is as guilty as his boss was of bullying,cowards both of them.

We wonder if his bosses out at Dalkeith would be happy to know that this jobsworth was a known football hooligan and had been part of the Hibernian football club casuals,a group known to involved in football violence.

A former employee now in New Zealand told us to check it out and we did using our resources and surprise surprise it checked out,standard duffel coat and all.

Two service users also told Pilton Sucks through our associate George that they to knew about his involvement with the Hibs casuals.

Another employee who was a former secretary of his local Hibs club confirmed this to us as well,we are happy to let Dalkeith Social Work Centre have a copy of our dossier if required,bet he didn’t put that in his application.

So a trail is available to even the simplest of investigations,the bully gets an assistant with dubious background and no Criminal Justice qualifications and has a known anger problem,to pile on the pressure to other members of that team who the bully wants rid of. His sidekick obliges and a catalog of disaster follows,neatly covered up by blaming others.

All this or most of it was already known to one or two senior managers before stories started to leak out about abuse of staff at this centre in Muirhouse. When the floodgates opened the two rats in the trap in Muirhouse ran for cover behind the nearest skirt they could find.

At least 5 people came forward and several witnesses as well to testify to the bullying that was going on.

Enter the bullys mates Mules and Robertson who conspired to cover it all up frightened that they would be dragged down as well in what would have become the biggest workplace bullying scandal ever to surface.

Staff abuse ,violence, threats intimidation and harassment was allowed to go unchecked and resulting in one member of staff attempting suicide.

All this damage and distress and these two no-goods go unpunished as yet.

We hope Mr. Millar enjoys his retirement and has time to contemplate what he should have done when he had the chance. But like most of his colleagues and his stand in ass licker supreme Robertson, they just watched their own backs while workplace bullys roamed that infamous centre in Muirhouse.        

Friends and readers. Election fever has gripped us all[only joking] Not only are Labour poised to lose Glenrothes,but stand to lose in the Forth ward as well making this a Labour free ward.

No doubt all the Forth punters will be desperate for their first leaflet devouring all the promises that will be made,only to be let down once again.

We at Pilton Sucks are of course neutral and hope it is a clean fair contest,because rumours have reached us about threats made to one or two individuals.

If we find these reports to be true we will print the name or names of those responsible and also report it to the police,so be warned. We have already received the name of one person who issued threats but will hold off printing the name until we can confirm the rumours.

It is something indeed when individuals cannot express an opinion different from the pack without receiving threats,or are accused falsely of one thing or another.

We are all entitled to our opinions free of threats of violence,and Pilton Sucks will have nothing to do with such nonsense and will finger those responsible.

So far we have notification of only one candidate chosen,that is the Labour candidate and NET employee and prospective westminster parliamentary candidate for Edinburgh west Cammy Day who we are told is a member of the Drylaw/Muirhouse branch of the Labour party.

We have done some checking and for the life of us cannot find the Drylaw/Muirhouse branch anywhere,we do hope this branch exists or it could make the selection meeting null and void.

Friends and readers. We have received information that another victim of the thug employed at the Muirhouse Social Work Centre is pushing for his case to be re-opened after it was rubbished by Children and Families manager John Mules.

Mr. Mules as we understand was asked to investigate this victims complaint but decided to rubbish it instead. But several months later let it slip in conversation that bullying did exist and was actively taking action to do something about it.

What precisely we ask the usual crap promote the perpetrators and/or cover the whole thing up.

There have been to many complaints coming out of this centre to be ignored,and to many victims left out in the cold. One is to many never mind the handful that have come forward.

This centre in Muirhouse and in particular the serial bully employed there have got to be investigated and from outside The city boundaries.

To many colleagues investigating each other with the sole mandate of cover up or in Harry Robertsons case promoted to the job soon to be vacated by Don six circle Millar.

Pilton Sucks is truly appalled at what has happened in a centre right here in this community perpetrated by people who have no interest in this community other than the salary they earn. The jobsworths who caused this problem have been left untouched by the crimes they committed and are able to hide behind people that have a vested interest in covering it all up.

The bullying of these employees was a disgrace and warranted punishment but none was forth coming,it did not help when Chief Social Worker Michelle Miller thought it was alright to abuse staff,only to say some time later that she took bullying seriously.

So seriously she done nothing about it just turned the other way.Pilton Sucks will not turn the other cheek and cannot be bullied or threatened,and will continue to speak out against this unspeakable act of workplace bullying.

Action will have to be taken sooner or later as the facade of respectability will falter under the pressure to take action against those responsible for the bullying in the Muirhouse centre and workplace bullying in general.

We wonder if our readers are aware of just what the victims have been put through while the perpetrators continue to get away with it and laugh at the plight of the victims.

Pilton sucks has been reliably informed that there is enough evidence swirling about to nail the bullys ,and evidence from different sources. Evidence which stretches back to when Harry Robertson was at Alva Street in the West End of Edinburgh along with his pal who he has protected and been rewarded for.

That’s a long time and a trail of evidence has followed since pointing to a serial bully incapable of any kind of position of authority where he could abuse others.

We have traced the footprints of bullying from Alva street through Leith then ultimately to Muirhouse where the trail ends for the moment. Where it goes from there is up to those who should know better have have a duty to provide a safe working environment for staff to work in.

Those that should did not and shied away from any responsibility turning their backs and giving the green light to bullying and harassment of staff.

But things are changing workplace bullying and the damage it causes is receiving national coverage,and the more pressure exerted the more those charged to provide a safe working environment will have to act otherwise it could be their heads on the chopping block.  

Friends and readers. We have been informed that Cammy Day has been selected as the Labour candidate to fight the  by election in the Forth Ward brought about by the untimely death of Councillor Maginnis.

We wonder if Cammy is not taking to much on. As well as being employed by the North Edinburgh Trust he is prospective parliamentary candidate for Edinburgh West. So if by some miracle Labour win in Forth,will he desert his constituents for a more lucrative opportunity in Edinburgh West,come the General Election?

Labour are all but finished having long since deserted their core voters in favour of the armchair socialists and chattering classes. The political map has changed drastically and no longer can a Labour candidate be assured of election by just turning up.

One thing that can be said with certainty former councillor Fitzpatrick was a dying breed,someone who actually came through the ranks,and had the respect of many in this community who felt he was one of them. How many of our local politicians can you say that about. 

Pilton Sucks cannot speak with any expertise on the inner workings of the Labour Party or any other political party nor would we be bothered to,but just looking at the previous election voting figures,it is abundantly clear what ever your view point that had he been selected Mr. Fitzpatrick would have given the other party candidates a real run for their money.

It is doubtful in the extreme that any one else will remotely be able to repeat the success Labour enjoyed in those halcyon days,when the hope that real change would come our way.

In some ways change has come about but only a few  benefited,and that was Labours big error,an error which will cost them for some time to come yet,and which no promises of this and that will change.

Mr. Fitzpatrick new where the strengths in the community lay and to his credit made use of that to try and ensure community involvement. Mr.Day does not and will have to rely on the Labour cabal that we are told doesn’t exist for advice and guidance.

Big mistake we advise the new Labour candidate to cast his net as wide as possible and distance himself from the ruling old guard,who will attack anyone who has a different opinion from them.

Given where he is employed at the moment that might be difficult. Labour have lost their way and have no leader to guide them.

We would not bother Mr. Day with our opinion on what is required,he would probably not want it,and just go down that tried and failed road of dragging out tired ideas which offers nothing new but more of the same.

Mr. Day will undoubtedly have his pals who will tell him what’s what but we would warn against listening to those with their own agenda given that has already failed and will fail again.

Here’s an opener for starters. All candidates will have to address the ongoing debate over the Fairer Scotland Fund and Mr.Day is in a perfect position to have an inside view.

Why not address the problem of several projects that have had very generous funding to the detriment of others. Or maybe that would upset the old guard and make Mr Day unpopular with a handful of beneficiaries. Or what about local employment which we were given grand promises about but have come to nothing in the new Jerusalem of the Waterfront. Or what about the so called affordable homes another promise which sank without trace.

So all these Labour promises which came to nothing can now be resurrected under a new and invigorating Labour campaign. But wait. A more even distribution of funding,local jobs affordable homes,such revolutionary thinking will put Labour’s candidate at odds with the previous promises made and the reality of what has transpired.
