Friends and readers. On Friday we contacted the Stealth and don’t care Department to ask two questions. Our first question was,Why were the two thugs who caused so much misery to others not suspended re- their own policies and proceedures when allegations of bullying and harassment first came to light at the infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre.

Our second question,was why when several members of staff came forward to complain of abusive behaviour was an outside independent investigation not carried out?

The answers if you can call them that were no comment,so the bully’s remain protected,hiding behind a wall of lies deceit and cover up. We told you recently that an employee who was only at this office for a short time complained of physical threats and abusive language.

We recently had it confirmed that the bully’s then assistant had an anger management problem resorting to threats at frequent intervals. When this employee reported it to the now early retired John Mules,it was dismissed, only later for Mules to retract his earlier dismissal and admit there was a bullying problem and it needed to be dealt with,was any action taken,answer no. 

The employee who suffered this onslaught of abuse was left wondering why when Mules admitted there was a problem in Muirhouse no action was recommended or taken. There is a strong rumour that the law is now involved although we cannot get confirmation it would appear from Newspaper reports that this is indeed the case.

Years of abusive behaviour,with the other three districts in the City knowing all about it,if that was the case then why no action from those charged to deal with such problems.

Two have now retired Don Millar whose involvement with the Muirhouse Six Circle project was dubious to say the least and now John Mules. Still no action to deal with a thug who is still free to abuse people. His former associate now at the Dalkeith Social Work Centre cannot escape justice either. 

Our demand for an independent investigation into serial bullying and harassment at this office in Muirhouse has been ignored by those who know this thug is guilty but choose to do nothing except harass the victims just because it is easier.

Our demand for such an investigation has had wide spread support with a large number of City employees posting us their support some saying they know the thugs concerned.Pilton Sucks has consistently demanded action even offering our dossier to Peter Gabbitas departmental director, an offer which has yet to be taken up.

Our conversation with a national newspaper regarding full publication goes on as we take them through it bit by bit. The serial bullying physical threats and harassment of staff within the Community Service team in Muirhouse is nothing short  a disgrace,and what makes this disgrace more abhorant is that this jobsworth thug was known to be abusive yet was allowed to carry on and continue to abuse staff. We are told he tried to spread his poison to other Districts but failed,that should have been reported as well. Sucking up to his superiors has gotton him away with his deviant behaviour for a long time,but we sincerly hope that the rumour of the law being involved is true and they catch up with this serial bully and expose him for what he is a cowardly thug.  

Friends and readers. The Nations economy is stagnant,as is the Westminster Government,and the writing is clearly on the wall for Browns bombers with the loss of another parliamentary seat,the Torries winning in Norwich with a 39% swing.

We all or most of us know what a Tory Government will mean,savage cuts in public spending, tax cuts for the better off,further attacks on the wages and conditions of ordinary working people,the very same people that will have to pay for the fuck ups caused by the friends of the Tory’s in the banking world.

For all that Browns limp Government has done which is precious little,there have been some high points. The minimum wage has hopefully stopped the exploiting for those at the shadiest end of the employment market. Scottish Devolution, Paternity leave,equal pay for the same job.

All good moves but most of it let down by the free hand given to the financial institutions to bring us all to the brink of disaster. Now our reforming Government with a small r has lost it’s way with resignations from the Cabinet and shouts for a change at the top.

The PM is boxed in by Cabinet colleagues who are moving in for the kill as they smell blood. Major mistake by Brown was not to sack the hapless and hopeless Chancer Darling,who must be the worst Chancellor in living memory.Peter Mandelson or is it Lord who now has more job titles than the rest of the cabinet put together,is now Gordons new best friend so he really is finished.

The down turn has some way to go yet, despite what we are told from the usual suspects who fear impending doom as the election draws nearer. But what for the prospects of those poor souls who have lost their jobs and see no end to their plight. This Country has much that needs done to improves it’s crumbling infra structure, and we feel a proper structered public works program designed to improve our surrounds would be a good investment.

Investing in people putting them back to work in a worth while project instead of the tried and failed method of keeping people on the dole just because it is easier.

Certainly not for the people that find themselves in that position and it’s growing daily,and this time we don’t have the jackpot of North Sea Oil to bail us out. So if the Torries win what do you think will happen.

For sure they will attack the weakest and launch an assault on the  benefits system followed by a major squeeze on wages and conditions,and something that has been doing the rounds recently scraping family allowance and means testing it.

Everyone of the Torries policies will be driven by a hatred of the poor and weak who they see as the real enemy who hold back everybody else. Don’t doubt for a minute that they won’t have a pop at the NHS bring in yet more managers and privatise it through the back door. Democracy is in real danger if Cameron’s mob make it all the way to No 10.

The cover that they will use is ,the last lot cocked it up so we have to take difficult decisions,which in reality means a war on the most vunerable in our Community,Don’t forget they have form for it.

So as you all sit down this morning for a Late and a healthy option breakfast, bemoaning the fact that you did not get six numbers on your lottery ticket,just pause for a moment and think to yourself,what do I value most in life,what is important to me,and then ask yourself the famously used phrase, Ask not what my community can do for me,but what can i do for my community,and then think who you are going to support come election time.    

Friends and readers,Question. What have Frank the chancer Phelen former principle at the secure unit of Howdenhall now hiding in Waverley Court,Kevin Glancy jailed recently for hording child porn and Gary Manamara jailed for pocessing class A drugs have in common

Answer. They were all employed at this secure unit at the same time. Strange but true. Now we know from our well informed source that Phelen was chummy with Glancy,with Phelen taking great pleasure in bullying staff at any given time.

Chancer Phelen is now protected by his masters down Waverley Court way so he thinks he is out of the firing line. Then along comes Gordon Collins transfered from Northfield YPU and lo and behold rumours start to circulate about a missing residents diary whose contents we are told are dynamite. What happened to this diary and who has it,yet another question Phelen has managed to avoid.

Our well placed source told Pilton Sucks that Collins was in her words a predator. What exactly does Phelen know and why was he never questioned on any of these matters?

Another serious issue within this unit is the shocking fact that the fire alarms do not work and have not done for about a year,our source tells us that this became life threatening when a fire broke out in a residents room and the alarm did not go off,why did Phelen do nothing about this.

This unit has already had adverse publicity in the Evening News and still no questions asked or investigation taken place. Why did two members of staff leave their posts and leave the building and residents unsupervised?why was no action taken? Our source tells us that since chancer Phelen left and new principle John Stevens brought in nothing has changed,and staff moral is rock bottom.

4 members of staff each with their own guilty secrets all employed at one time in the same unit,three of which at the same time. We believe along with a number of others that Frank the chancer Phelen must be called to account for his time at Howdenhall instead of living off the fat of the land in Waverley Court.

Staff that have spoken to Pilton Sucks have all told us that Phelen had his pals at the unit one of whom was convicted criminal Kevin Glancy,exactly how friendly were Phelen and Glancy?something which only these two know but we are sure others would like to know as well.

What info does phelen have on that laptop he carries everywhere with him? how did Phelen manage to escape from Howdenhall and hide in Waverley Court? Who actually interviewed Phelen for the post he now holds,and what if any excuses did he give for the problems within this unit that were so publicly aired?

This point goes to the heart of a major problem facing the new City administration. Labour appointed officials doing as they please ignoring any changes so desperatly needed within this City at senior level. Pilton Sucks believes that all senior officials should have had to re-apply for their jobs when the new administration took over as happened in Aberdeen.

To much power is weilded by officials taking no notice of anything they don’t agree with,sitting quitely on their hands waiting and hoping that their former pals who gave them so much power get re-elected. That’s how useless cretins like Phelen escape through the net.

Nothing of any substance will get done while these Labour lackies resist change which strips them of their power base. Howdenhall is an example of cover up and corruption with residents being put at risk. Muirhouse Social Work Centre is another corrupt institution we have highlighted with serial bullying the order of the day.

These people can only get away with terrible behaviour simply because it is covered up by their pals who fear their own ass would be on the line if the truth came out. The new administration has a big job on it’s hands and these experienced power mad officials will see an opportunity to exploit the new kids on the block,keeping their little empires intact until their former paymasters make a return,and then things can return to normal.    

Friends and readers. We have been asked to inform any and everybody that is interested that Community Council Elections will be held in October. This is an opportunity to get actively involved with what’s going on in and around were you live.

Piltons Sucks is of the view that Community Councils can make a positive contribution to Community living and if you have the time it can be very worth while.

For the record we have 4 newish Community Councils and 1 established C/C. They are Trinity C/C, Granton/and District C/C, West Granton/West Pilton C/C And Muirhouse/Salveson C/C . Drylaw/Telford C/C has been with us for some time.

We have been asked to point out that if you are unsure which C/C operates were you live,you can contact your local Coucillor who would know or contact the City Chambers[200 2000] and someone will be able to point you in the right direction as to who to contact.   

Friends and readers Contact has been made with Pilton Sucks with regard to our bullying dossier. A national daily newspaper has made inquires with an interest to publishing our findings.

Our full and frank dossier gathered over a period of time shows clearly and names ,names as to what actually occured within the now infamous Muirhouse Social Work Centre.

Our dossier which was made available to Mr. Peter Gabbitas Director of the dinosauric Health and Social Care Department,having heard nothing we assume it is not required. We feel this is a silly mistake in the circumstances.

Our associate George has agreed to meet with the people concerned and discuss terms of reference. We believe our dossier is a landmark document in workplace bullying,charting the bullys activities,the torment of the victims and the subcequent tactics employed by those charged with a duty of care to their employees.

Contained within our dossier is the names of all who were involved in this scandal,which we have doubled checked for authenticity,and factual content. Our lawyers have looked them over and have okayed them for release.

It will also be published on line at the same time or at an agreed time if published nationally. This silent evil of workplace bullying and the massive costs to both victim and the organisations concerned has to be exposed,and we hope Pilton Sucks can lead the way in helping victims to come forward and tell their story.

Ou dossier gathered over a long period of time makes harrowing reading,alongside lies deceit and incompetence by those that should have taken action but did nothing. 

Our in depth investigation started by accident when we recieved a post from an employee at the then headquarters at Shrubhill. As we dug a little further it soon became clear what we were confronting and asked people to come forward if they knew anything. Bit by bit the picture became clearer and what we uncovered was shocking to us.

We have had two of our associates working fulltime on this scandal and workplace bullying in general. The wall of silence that greeted all of our requests and questions only confirmed we had hit a sore point so we went down another more sucessful route.

Pilton Sucks will continue to campaign to have workplace bullying constituted as a crime and enshrined in leglislation with a custodial sentence a option for the courts to pass down to the guilty.

Scotland is behind England in this matter so the victims of workplace bullying are starting from a disadvantage,with only the stalking law as an option. But do not let that put you off if you are or become a victim of these workplace thugs. Come forward for if you don’t these jobsworth thugs will escape to bully again and again.

Friends and readers. Our local football team Spartans gave North Edinburgh a real shot in the arm by winning the Ronnie Swan Challenge Cup on Sunday beating SPL team Hamilton Accies 2-0.

In windy conditions Spartans proved the stronger side tight in defence and taking their chances when they came. By taking an SPL scalp Spartans have shown that they are more than capable of holding their own with some of the big boys. With good attendances on both Saturday and Sunday all bodes well for Spartans in their excellent new facilities.

So well done Spartans the pride of North Edinburgh.

Today’s report on page two of the Daily Record regarding an MSP’s comments on the failure of Community Service orders to be completed or in some cases even started,may be political mischief making and points scoring,but would it not make sense to take a closer look at some of the reasons why?

Within our own Community of Forth we uncovered a bullying scandal within the Muirhouse Community Service Team where several members of staff were subjected to abusive behaviour by the manager. Clearly in this case the system cannot be working if time is spent on harassing staff instead operating orders.

What Criminal Justice qualifications does this mob have,we suspect little or none,so this scheme slips under the wire and is managed by unqualified personel, great start. The Sunday mail ran a number of articles earlier in the year showing up how amarturish it all was,yet millions of taxpayers hard earned money is pumped in to support this operation.

If it is just to be a numbers game the any old tom dick and harry can be employed to work with offenders and the reality hidden away by the powers that be.

What we uncovered within the Muirhouse office was a tale of disaster where a couple of bully’s were allowed free reign to abuse staff and manage the service which incredibly they were not qualified to do.

What chance does any scheme have of working if it allowed to be managed by clowns intent on building little empires on the backs of others.

We believe a whole scale root and branch review not by a corrupted internal system designed to protect their own interests,but a proper Government review body who have access to the best qualified people,with a view to a comprehensive change in how this discredited scheme is operated and who by.

Down here in Forth one of the action groups Health and Social Care should be given an opportunity to get their teeth into operating this scheme,and holding mangers to account for their inaction and duplicity,that’s real Community control something which Pilton Sucks would fully support.

Community Courts is another idea we fully back and something which sucessfully operates in parts of the United States.

People across the Forth Ward should take a closer look at their Community Service scheme and put forward their own idea’s. The powers that be in that most dinosauric of Departments Health and Social Care would collapse at the thought of that.

The scheme in Muirhouse is already under a dark cloud because  free reign was given to a corwardly thug to abuse staff. Maybe the Community would do a better job,most certainly it could do no worse.

Friends and readers. Our local football team Spartans whose new home is the magnificent facility in Pilton Drive North have reached the final of the Challenge cup. Yesterday they defeated Blyth Spartans 4-3 on penalties and will now play SPL side Hamilton Accies in the final today at 3.15.

The gates open at 11.30am and all are welcome. The first game is for the 3rd 4th place playoff between Raith Rovers and Blyth Spartans.

We wish Spartans well today and hope they bring the first of many trophys to the new stadium. Today we may have something to cheer and smile about.

Friends and readers. We have been asked to let you all know that Community activist Marion Gunn died on Friday.

Marion was active within our Community,being both a board member of the North Edinburgh News and treasurer of her local Community Council Granton and District.

We would like to offer our sincere condolances to Marions family at this time,as once more we lose a valued activist and friend.

Friends and readers. Recent figures show that unemployment in Edinburgh and North Leith area has nearly doubled since the downturn started. These figures show that once again we will and are being hit the hardest in this recession.

Mark Lazarovicz who claimed that there was virtually no unemployment in his constituency is about as accurate as his expence claims. Of course this Community will no doubt feel the brunt of the economic chill where long term unemployment contrary to Mr.Lazarovicz’s claim will remain just that.

Those hardest to reach in the employment world will sink even further down the pecking order and we are not far from crisis point. While chancer Darling himself an expence fiddler threw money at a failed and corrupt banking system, he cut Scotlands budget allocation ,and without question hitting the poorest and weakest in our society.

This from a middle class Labour Chancellor who is first and foremost concerned with one thing and one thing only,his own career. While he fiddles the poorest suffer and working class community’s like this one will suffer the full brunt of any cuts that come our way.

Labour have sold out it’s once core support to protect the establishment  and it’s way of life. While they pander to the middle classes who will desert them in droves come the next election they have stuck two fingers up to their traditional supporters. The banking system will survive the taxpayers have seen to that,but unemployment will continue to rise,but certainly not amongst the banking elite who have dined with our honourable PM at his country retreat of Chequers.

No wonder Goodwin got away with it he was on intimate dining arrangments with the PM. Labour have given up on the poor and will take their chances with the rest come judgement day.

In less than a year from now the voters many of whom will have lost their jobs and hopes will cast their franchise to elect a new Government. It seems like Hobsons choice, The failed policies of a tired and couldn’t care less Government,or the ruthless duo of Cameron and Osbourn the Tory hatchet men who will make Labour’s attack on the poor look like a ride in the park.

Who the hell wants to be a voter.
